Not to be missed when you are in Charlottetown! The food is delicious and original in taste and presentation. The staff are friendly and the service impeccable. Special thanks to Brady and Emily who made our night so memorable.
Back on the Island and decided to eat at The Brickhouse after being here first time last year. The service and meal were exceptional again.
I do not recommend this place. The food was overpriced, unseasoned and lacked taste. The beharnaise came broken, the mussles were not washed and had crustation, the meat was obviously not seasoned before or after cooking... I could go on. But even if the dishes had been executed to perfection, the prices belonged to a casual fine dining experience/promise, which the plates did not deliver. For a four top (with 2 drinks each) amounting to a total bill of over $350 (tip not yet included), it would take a lot to make this worth the price. The people serving were friendly and polite, but suffered from being understaffed. This was altogether a bizarre experience, that left us feeling like we had been robbed. To try to explain why this happened, I can only be reminded of a conversation I had with the hostess when she brought Gahan’s branded glasses of water. “Is this place owned by Gahan’s?”, I asked. “Yes, the Gahan’s in front, Sim’s Corner, next to it , as well as Fishbone Oyster Bar & Grill and Merchantman Fresh Seafood & Oyster Bar on other downtown streets are all owned by the MURPHY HOSPITALITY GROUP”. Considering they operate a near monopoly on Downtown restaurants, it would explain why they can get away with serving subpar food, and probably laugh all the way to the bank while reading this review.
A busy place on a Friday night but we got a spot. Good food and attentive service.
Wonderful, accommodating, nice people, knowledgeable kitchen staff - even the newbies. Love the chowder. Really a good experience.
Charlottetown really has a vibrant dining scene and tonight I decide to give this Bistro a try. The restaurant was located in one of these cute historic buildings. It was the pre-Thanksgiving weekend and things were sort of busy in the restaurant. I saw the host turning away guests with no reservation. Tonight I tried the Island mussels with white wine and garlic sauce starter, which was fresh and tasty, and the PEI striploin "steak frites," which was lovely. I ordered it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. My only minor complaint is that the fries were not crispy enough. In general, Brickhouse is a nice restaurant and is worthwhile for a visit. Once again, you need to make a reservation in advance, especially during dinners and the weekends.
We were a party of 10 and all enjoyed what we had. Some of use had brunch and some of us had lunch. The lunch I saw, club sandwich was very big portion.
An elegant atmosphere, the epitome of fine dining experience. A great blend of modern mixed with old. The demographic reaches from the millennial to the experienced, all aspects of the menu delights even the most pickiest of eaters. Started with the beef carpaccio, tuna tartar and the mussels, not one meal disappointed our hungry pallet. Finished the meal with a scallop pasta to die for. It had fresh elements with the water crest that brightened the dish and the peas made it earthy. Hands down an experience for the ages. Reservations are highly suggested, we were lucky enough to find a place at the bar where we had a very pleasant conversation with the friendliest bartender. Kudos to the staff and the cooks for a one of a kind experience!!
A little bit pricy, but food is nice and servers are friendly.Tuna tartare and steak frites, mocktail, and desserts are very good.
Their patio has a really nice warm ambiance. The food arrived super quickly and was great. On top of that the chef insisted on topping my dogs steak treat with pea shoots after researching that they were dog safe ?
