Sushi is consistently mediocre, my family has ordered from here monthly for years, today the sushi was egregiously bad. Rice was hard and not sticky, the rolls would fall a part just trying to pick them up. The tempura was really burnt and I don't know what batter they used this time but it was not panko like usual, it was just hard dough. Oh, I knew the owners kids in highschool, the owners are very racist, their kids were great tho. We continued to order cause the food was decent and cheap and my dad hates change, but now its time to look elsewhere.
I often order takeout and have done dine-in many times at Kyoto. It was one of my favourite sushi spots until tonight. The service was slow, the sushi was all pre-made, slimy from condensation and even tempura was luke-warm. The sashimi was cut like shaved prosciutto and the spicy tuna handroll was salmon which resembled canned cloverleaf. The worst part of all was that it was 80$ for two people after tax. Wednesday May 18th, 530pm. Please bring back the chef who knew what he was doing.
Too bad, food is great, ordering online and pickup is the worst. Again today, ordered online for 3 rolls, edamame and soup @6:30, received confirmation ready about 30min later, went to pick up, they took my money but gave me a buzzer and exactly 1 hr later I received my order. The other customers outside waiting were also furious. Too bad this will be my last and probably everyone there tonight.
Great all you can eat sushi (when it was open for dine in, used to go every friday) , lately just take out but still maintains great quality for sushi. Service is usually quick, except friday nights but understandable since there is a lot of people ordering take out friday night from them. Speaks to how good the sushi is. Really hoping they go back to indoor dining soon.
Surprisingly not very friendly. I'm sure the sushi is good, but the lady at the front was not nice at all, especially to 2 elderly customers ordering. Discounts when paying cash too, so I'm guessing they aren't friendly with the tax man either.
Most favourite sushi spot that never fails.
This is my favorite sushi place to go to in Toronto! I wish they started back the dine-in for all-you-can-eat but maybe someday. Just order on their website and pick it up. It's that easy!
Great rolls , but new years eve was a disaster. Completely messed up lines , orders and basically everything. Ordered 24 hours in advance and still waited 2 hours ...and 15 min on top , cuz my order wasnt ready
Fresh, and always amazing prices! My go to sushi restaurant! Ordered take-out today and it was amazing! Very polite, and efficient staff.
Decided to try Kyoto and its quickly become our go to sushi place. Food is always fresh, great prices and friendly caring staff. They accommodated us for a delivery even though it was a bit late, and were able to squeeze a last minute order. Highly recommended!
