We had an amazing dinner yesterday, St Patrick’s Day at Tommy ‘s Barbecue with the restaurant’s delicious so tender juicy pork ribs , crispy French fries, with salad & muffin .I had my margarita , take out huge slice yummy tiramisu .On top of this wonderful dinner , our server Leslie , was very friendly, accommodating and so attentive. Not even asking her , she offered extra plate, salad .Always there, smiling , asking if we need anything else . Thanks a lot Leslie .Rest is staff friendly and accommodating as well .Will come back & recommend Tommy’s Barbecue.
Tommy's BBQ absolutely exceeded our expectations in the quality of food and customer service. Our large group was in town for a hockey tournament and we were unable to confirm the exact pick up time as it depended on the results of the games throughout the weekend. They patiently worked with us and our ever changing schedule, and our pick up after closing time. The food was so delicious, best cornbread I've ever had, ribs and chicken were meaty and juicy, and the variety of sauces really tops it off. Next time we will be sure to save room for dessert!
Ended up here after Firehouse subs was packed. Nothing really caught my eye on the menu so I ended up ordering the servers recommendation which was the pulled pork sandwich. It was large, pork was tender but could have used more sauce. The cheese on it is a bit weird, and it made the BBQ sauce on the table just slide off. The wife ordered the clubhouse and said it was ok. Needed more mayo or sauce. Ordered dessert, the apple pie which I wasn't aware it was a crumble topping one was trash. Dry, dense and little flavour. The rocky road cheesecake was pretty good. The place is very much for the older crowd, we were the youngest people there. The whole place was full of seniors which explains the basic menu items.
I visited recently as I was told that it was a tribute to TBQ and had similar food. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. The server forgot to bring the Rueben roll and when it arrived it was falling apart and had no filling. The ribs were under seasoned, tasted old and were scrawny. No comparison to the ribs back in the TBQ or Other Place days which were perfectly seasoned with the trademark rub. The sauce was ok. The coleslaw was old and grey, corn also old, flavorless, bland and colourless. The cornbread was ok. The dessert was awful which was sad because I used to love the desserts especially banana cream or coconut cream pie which was my dad's favourite. I ordered the lemon meringue, as s they were out of the other two, which had almost no lemon filling and was not meringue but old tasting bland and heavy whipped cream. The coffee was also not fresh. It made me sad because I had so many wonderful memories of TBQ and remember the Racovits family greeting us at the downtown location. I actually had my Bar Mitzvah at the Other Place. My father worked across the street at the downtown location and ate there several times a week and knew all the servers by names as did they know him. I will give it another chance next time I'm in town because I am a Windsorite born and raised. Maybe it was just an off night. I also miss the Athenian salad which was amazing! I never write reviews but figured I should let you know. Thanks.
Best French onion soup I've had in a long time. Ribs were excellent. German chocolate cake divine
Prices went up but really tasty! I love the ribs, sweet sauce, my kids love the pulled pork sandwiches and my husband likes the hot hamburger. The desserts are delicious! Can never go wrong with black forest cake, strawberry romanoff, or any cheesecake. A must try!
Good food, good service! - But as an update despite the good taste and good service the after effects of eating the otherwise tasty half chicken left me heading to the bathroom for a day! Possibly undercooked? Really too bad but now likely won't go back! Lowered rating from 5 to 1 star! And I had to spend my money to get this?! Very frustrating!
Taste was good. Portion size was mediocre. Customer service was lacking.I ordered 1/2 slab ribs with steamed veg. I told them I am on a keto diet so no fries or potato.Tommy's said that they don't do substitutions. And after my begging with them, they agreed to extra coleslaw.I received 2 dinky cups worth of coleslaw the size of a toonieMaybe 4 forkfuls. So for $27 after tax and tip, I ate 4 forks of slaw and 5 ribs bones. I am still hungry.Tommy's offerings are less than generous and therefore I didn't get any value for my money.
My sister special ordered the ‘Mocha Cake’ for my Birthday. I have had Mocha Cakes in the past from other restaurants but nothing compared to THIS MOCHA CAKE from Tommy’s. this cake was the BEST Mocha Cake ever. It was sooo fresh and had the most delicious coffee mocha cream filling between the layers. The cream was so light and fluffy and not overly sweet. The taste was heavenly!! Will definitely special order again!! Thank You !!
We went for 1st time today food and portions great ,our waitress was outstanding would definitely go back?
