3 beers on tap. Oops one tap doesn’t work. Oops second tap doesn’t work. Pizza was hot, lots of toppings and a nice firm crust but utterly tasteless and I’m not sure why. Was it the cheese, the pizza sauce, the pepperoni? Our waitress was good. Place is a soulless hole in the wall with giant weeds, and I mean giant, growing in front of the place in the sidewalk.
I will admit I read the reviews prior to ordering. They made me skeptical, but I placed an order anyway. The girl that answered the phone was lovely, not rude, the chicken parmigiana just as good as Armando Cabana. The crispy chicken salad was full of chicken, walnuts, etc. Only sad note, I didn't get the fabulous french dressing as ordered. Would definitely recommend.
food is always on point. very tender veal. large portions. excellent food. windsor is very lucky to have this treasure and many forget about this place. why cook in this hot weather when franco's can do it for ya. order yourself a few dishes at a time you will not be disappointed. who ever said avoid seafood is wrong. their fish and chips (wedgies) are english style and delicious.
Dropped in for dinner. Food is excellent with ample servings. Never disappointed. Excellent job to both the front and back of house.
Went for the all u can eat perch, it wss delicious, if you can get past the first serving, your doing better than I did, I got through it but it took all I had just to eat the first serving, you definitely get your money's worth at francos, always have, thanks for being here for so long and serving up some damn good food, service was great too even though overwhelmed did a really good job at keeping thing under control, great job and thanks again
They had a special all you can eat perch. It was delicious. It was lightly breaded and came to the table piping hot. The first serving had 8 filets on the plate and the second serving was quick to follow. The server was all by herself in the dining room, but she did an excellent job. Well done Kaitlyn !
I had ordered some fettuccini alfredo tonight and some battered mushrooms. There was so much garlic in the pasta the food was not edible. The dipping sauce that came with the mushrooms was nothing but pure salt.Franco's has been around for a very long time and is a landmark (or was) restaurant in Windsor. If this is any indication of their quality of food, I will not be ordering from them again.The Tums was more appetizing than the meal.I would give them no stars, but I can't post without at least one star.Signed, Disappointed, and out a lot of money.
I recently had dinner here for my daughter's first communion. I made reservations for 15. Their pasta sauce was terrible and very salty. None of my family went for seconds. The veal parm was also very salty and tough (over cooked) you could tell they used the same sauce as they used for the pasta pasta. It was also salty and had a sour/bitter taste. Like when sauce gets old and has sat refrigerated for too long. The mixes vegetables were not cooked well and had no flavor. We had 1 waitress who was friendly and kind but the poor thing was working hard and alone and was forgetting drinks and cheese for our pasta. When the water came...it was room temp. No ice In our waters. It was a hot day! This will be our last time. I was embarrassed and it wasn't cheap.
Was told it would take 45min - 1hr for delivery. Took almost 1.5hrs. Ordered Feta & Chicken on our pizza. These items are a double charge and the items were sparce on the pizza. The bacon was rock hard. Pizza was just horrible.
Our first time ordering from Franco’s. The pizza was disappointing-very dry & not much flavour. BUT the Fried Pickles are some of the best we have ever had!
