I don’t know what has happened to The Villa, we’ve been coming here for over years, probably almost a decade! Staff has always been friendly and food has been great. The last two times I was here I found the staff to be rude. Portions are far from what they used to be and the quality of food has diminished. We ordered Teppanyaki for two, used to be about 60.00 now it’s 80.00 and I wish I got a pic of my plate. There was less then 4oz of chicken and about 7 pieces of vegetable. There was no sear on the meat, tasted boiled and rice what used to be a bowl size is now a tea cup. What’s worse is that you barely finish and they are at you table with the debit machine. After paying I asked for more hot water for tea as it had gotten cold, she brings the tea and when we were leaving she asked for 2.00 more for the extra tea!!! I was totally and utterly disgusted and although I loved the The Villa before these last two times are enough for me. Will never be returning. Clarence, when it was you and Andy your restaurant was top notch, when Andy left you still were great. Sadly we’ll never be retuning cause of these last two experiences.

I'm trying to leave as honest a review as possible. I've ordered from Villa twice, last night being the second time. It was worse this time than last, but I kind of kicked myself for expecting it to be better. The quality of the maki rolls is very, very low, both in ingredients and rolling. I was surprised to see the sushi rolled in such an amateur fashion, falling apart before we touched it with our chopsticks. The outer rim of rice and seaweed did not meet in the middle, overlapping at the end so that the ingredients were never under any pressure in the centre. Ingredients in most rolls weren't sticking together, so that when you did pick up a roll its contents would stay in the tray and you'd be left with the rice. The rice too was very stale, I found that weird considering the volume of rice a restaurant must turn over. It tasted like it had been left out on the stove overnight. The salmon smelled immediately as we opened the container...not a good sign. Off-gassing on my plate really does concern me, considering it should be rather fresh. At this point, after giving them a second chance, my understanding is this is the level of quality people have come to expect from them. Clearly people are happy if the overall ratings are so high. My suggestion would be to look elsewhere, take a chance on a different sushi restaurant.

DO NOT GO HERE. UNFRIENDLY STAFF. NOT WORTH. My family planned a surprise bday dinner for me and the moment I got there I was RUSHED to order before I got a chance to read the menu and sit down. Mind you I was never there before and this was the first time at a place like this so I had no idea how anything worked. Staff was so unfriendly and the chef only did 3 tricks. NOT WORTH IT. The chef would occasionally smile but for the most part was very shy and not engaging. They kept rushing us to eat our meal to remind us that we were supposed to leave soon. It made no sense, and I could not enjoy. They didn't ask us for any allergies, and seemed annoyed when having to accommodate for my boyfriends allergy. Anyways, NOTGOOD.

Today was my first time attending this restaurant. Went on a nice night out with friends and family to a birthday celebration, however the experience was underwhelming to say the least. Our first issue came earlier in the day when making a reservation. We called first thing in the morning to make a reservation for 5pm that evening. When we contacted the restaurant they agreed to having us in at 5 however didn’t ask for a name number or anything of the sort. We arrive at 5:00 pm and the first thing that was addressed to us was that we must be done eating at 6:30 because of another reservation is scheduled for that time. We agreed due to the fact that we wanted to make the night as fun as possible as we were planning to celebrate a birthday. When seated the waitress handed us menus and immediately asked what we wanted, our table couldn’t even get the chance to open the menu to browse and see what interested us. She also said they we must get meal a, b, or c.to get the ball rolling. The chef then came out to cook for us on the grill. It was a laxk of energy and dis interest for our table even though we made it clear it was a special birthday. When we received our food the staff stared at us the whole time even telling us hurry up and eat. Making the experience very uncomfortable and annoying.I understand that scheduling is a priority and must be kept however if the staff knew they double booked why wouldn’t you take the initiative to either a) cancel our reservation or b) renegotiate a better time. All in all this was a terrible experience and i will never go back again the fact that my family and i were treated so poorly was disgusting especially compared to other people who came after us. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Not even my own worst enemy would treat me this way. Please don't go and waste your time and money for Chinese food that you good get at fine taste for half the price amd it tastes way better.

Absolutely disgusted in this restaurant. We had reservations booked for tonight (my moms birthday) for 2 weeks in advance. I made her repeat it back numerous times because I heard this place has a history of screwing up reservations. I was treated EXTREMELY poorly by HIEB. No apology, no resolution, just rude.

One of my worst Hibachi grill experiences in a very long time. The chef did not really interact much, did not even try to entertain us and the kids. The waitress had this kind of attitude when talking and her tone was very rude. She is just lucky we did not ask to speak to the manager as he would have gotten a earful from us.Prices are not reasonable, so while I don’t mind paying I expect service to be good and don’t need rude staff attending to me.I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone based on my experience.

We had their sushi and a side of beef. It was okay. I found the sushi wasn't wrapped tight enough as it fell apart too often. The service was okay as well as it wasn't busy but there were long periods of time with no one to service us. I heard good things about their teppanyaki so I would definitely check that out .

The service here is absolutely terrible from the staff at the front end counter(man and a woman). Do not think I was not observing the service levels during my 2 visits. First one at the Teppanyaki and a second chance I gave this place many weeks later at the takeout menu.Learn how to smile, not be rude to your customers and do not judge anyone. My guest and I did not feel welcome at your establishment and it was duplicated exactly on the second occasion. Treat all your customers with hospitality and manners as you never know who you are serving. I will leave it at that, but never returning or referring this place.

A wonderful place to eat. Such a gem. The food is simply the best, and better than any chains out there.

Food was great staff very friendly.
