So I am aware that this is supposed to be a fusion restaurant, however as a Trinidadian I went with certain expectations and was definitely let down.We ordered doubles and the bara (fried dough) was just thick and heavy and there was little channa (chick peas) in it. I was just.eating rolls of dough. Also, the channa had no flavor. I will stick to my Trini joints for trini food. If there was flavour at least, I would give it a second chance but order something different. Don't see that happening.
To be honest one of the best roti places I have been in a while. The curry feels like your back home in the Bahamas ?? loved this place
First time I've ordered and will be my last. I ordered doubles and veggie roti ... Absolutely no taste ... I took one bite of the doubles and did not finish it. Well it was worth a shot. All the best with your business.
Shan's Roti House is our go to local place. They food is authentic, always hot, fresh flavours, generous portions and reasonably priced. Great customer service and fresh made.
We tried Shans roti last night. We both had curried chicken along with coleslaw. Everything was fresh and delicious! Shan is lovely. Will definitely order again from here.
Got Chicken rice today for lunch. Should say the quantities are too small for the price they are charging. Thought it wouldn't be enough and got extra rice, was surprised seeing how small their portion is for the money they charged. The eggplant is foul tasting, chicken is bland no taste at all. All in all, this will be my last time i will visit this place.
Indian/Caribbean Fusion? The Good - The dahl puri roti shell was made well. The dahl was seasoned well. The bad - curry as a Trinidadian it did not meet my expectation. I was disappointed with the flavor it was very bland. Also I think more transparency is needed. If this is a fusion of East Indian and West Indian that should be celebrated and let people know. Therefore someone like me would not be disappointed and feel like they wasted money on a bad food experience.
Fantastic experience at this amazing new restaurant in whitby. Extremely tasty and many options on their menu. I ordered their curry chicken and rice with pumpkin on the side. What I liked is you had many choices for something on the side . Great value for what your paying. Delicious and I definitely recommend to everyone to visit. Very friendly owners who I enjoyed a nice conversation with them while I waited for my food. Super glad I went in there it's going to a weekly meal for me.
Just perfect fresh food. Tried hot Baasmati rice and Beef Curry which comes with potatoes and a side without any extra price. It was awesome. Service so good.
