This would be a 5 star review and this is my favourite sushi spot in all of Durham region but they still don’t offer dine in I understood that when Covid was going on and everything was locked down but there are lots of sushi places around and are open for dine in it is a real shame because this is my all time favourite spot to get sushi but the experience and bang for you’re buck is not the same with take out and can get the same experience else where with the dine in option and this place is that good that I wouldn’t mind spending an extra 5-10$ per person to dine in here..
The sushi is great BUT they give hardly any soy sauce. I even requested a specific number of extra containers and they did not give it. I ordered a large sushi order and they gave me two tiny containers that aren’t even full.
Really nice flavor. We just wish that the Miso didn't cost extra. So av great place to eat sushi. We always like to order ahead, always ready on time for us and great quantity of food .

They have a good variety of rolls and tempura. The cuts of sashimi are a little hit and miss but 90% of the time they’re good. The service here is also decent, they are pretty attentive to the tables and the rolls and orders are prepared with good timing even when it’s busy. This is a picture of their takeout tray.

So far, we are extremely satisfied with Oishi Maki. BEST PLACE in Durham region. Food is amazingly delicious and clean. I have extremely sensitive digestive system and this place by far my #1.Being a picky sushi person, the sushi here is awesome.1- The rice to filling ratio is perfection by it self. Fair/small amount of rice and more filling.2- rice seasoning is right on the dot. Not sweat or salty (actually maybe the food here is more on the light salt side)3- fillings are fresh and clean everytime we get our order.4- the roll is perfectly rolled ( not loss and doesn't fall apart).5- best miso soup ever. The broth is not too watery and not salty at all, just perfect every single time.5- last but not least fairly priced.I kept delaying my review for Oishi Maki because I wanted to try it multiple times and make sure I don't rush into my rating. Also I was too scared to jinx it ?. I hope this place stays the same or gets better and doesn't get worst. We never tried dine in, we always do takeout so this rating and review is based on takeout only.Try this place, you won't regret.F.Y.I: this place doesn't offer fancy sushi, just a standard sushi and honestly this place better than many other places in Peterborough, Oshawa, Whitby, Bowmanville, ajax, Mississauga, Markham, Toronto etc.Give the place a try for takeout, you won't regret it ?

My preferred sushi spot in Whitby. I haven't done dine-in here, but often get take-out. Great place to grab a meal, or party tray. Service is always pretty quick. And so glad they don't water down the wasabi, unlike some places in the area.
Excellent sushi rolls and soup with resealable prices. I recomend this place ?
