Extremely bad customer service by the woman who answered the phone. It doesn't matter how busy the restaurant is, there should always be time to speak to customers. First we were quoted incorrect amounts differently from the website, then was advised there wasn't time to talk to us. How can we support a small business when treated this way?
Best fish n chips on the planet!!!
Picked up Halibut dinners on our way home. The meal was horrible! The box was swimming with fat. The fillets were very thin and overcooked! Not often where the fish itself is crunchy, usually the batter. The fries were undercooked.My Mom had the same experience with the seafood platter. Nothing of her meal was good. Looked like they just piled it all in the box and didn't look appetizing at all!Pretty sad considering it was always our go to place for fish.
This has got to be the best Fish & Chips I've had in a very long time! The halibut was fresh, battered and fried when I ordered it. And the serving was HUGE, much bigger than I had anticipated. I couldn't even finish the salad and fries but I had to finish the delicious fish! The batter was crispy-crunchy and the fish was moist and tender. The food was amazing and the service was friendly, personal, and professional! With dining rooms closing tomorrow (January 4th, 2022) due to COVID/Omicron, Capt. George's remains open for pickup or delivery via Doordash or UberEats. Please show your support and help out these businesses!

We only do take-out from here so I can't speak to any in dining experience. For the most part the fish is nice a crispy without being dry. Prices are pretty good too when you do the family combo or early week deal. Fries are good. I do wish they added seasoning to them fresh out of the fryer, but it's a small complaint.

As a newbe to Captain George's Fish House, I was pleasantly pleased. The restaurant was clean, bright, tables were spaced as required.The staff were friendly, both the kitchen and server always had a smile. The server was knowledgeable when ask about the difference in fish on their menu. It was noted that the menu listed items not found at other locations.My meal was delivered to my table hot. Portions are large, and prices reasonable.I will definitely return to this Whitby location.
