Excellent food and fresh fish. Also amazing customer/business interactions.
If I’m looking for take out deep fried haddock, Sue’s is my choice. While the fish is great, I’m not a fan of the French fries so I skip them entirely or substitute Cole slaw. The fries are often too dark in colour and not very appetizing looking. I like the fries at A&W which are so much nicer. Haven’t tried the shrimp or chowder yet.
Moved out to Niagara Falls area two years ago, been looking for good fish and chips since moving, this beats everyone else to date by far. No one else rated a second visit. Fish portions were large, crispy, and not oily. I will be back to try the perch.
Of our many dozens of takeout meals from Sue’s we’ve been less than delighted only once, and that was today. Our favourite fish is halibut. A year or so ago supply chain glitches kept it off the menu, but happily only for awhile. Their halibut came from cold Alaska waters and was firm, flaky, white and absolutely delicious. We were advised that today’s halibut was from California and that it has a pinkish hue, otherwise the same. But it isn’t. Not even close. It was quite soft, almost mushy, and the flavour was muted and unappetizing. We didn’t finish it. A first. We hope, like the last time, the unavailability of the Alaska halibut is temporary. In the meantime, we’ll get the haddock. Still, a great little takeout seafood restaurant. Just don’t get the California halibut.
At one time Sues was the best place to go for fish and chips. Lately it hasn’t been the case. IMO Sue isn’t changing her oil enough, and as a result the french fries are the worst I have ever tasted. Sorry Sue but you’ve lost me as a customer.
First time ordering, the lady was so nice on the phone (I don’t know if it was Sue ?), helpful and easy to understand, and when I got there to pick it up, it’s not sitting under a heat lamp, she packaged it all up right in front of me, so it was hot and fresh. Home made tartar sauce is very unique and delicious. Not greasy, and just overall, I think this was one of the best fish & chips I’ve had.
Absolutely amazing... We Ordered Nova Scotia haddock. 2 one piece meals and the quality of the fish and chips was next level.By far the best fish and chips we have order in Niagara. The restaurant is absolutely impeccably clean and organized and the staff was so friendly and outgoing. This is from now on going to be our family's go to spot.
New to Welland and looked at reviews to find good fish and chips. Choose Sue’s seafood from all the good reviews. Did not disappoint! Halibut dinner was fantastic. Nice light batter and fish portion was a good size. Will definitely return

Great fish, but what happened to the frirs. Last yhree times they were dried out as if they were reheated from the night before.
