Friendly and tasty Korean place that opened in the past year. Fried chicken is one of the best in the plaza and the black bean noodles are the BEST. It's a staple that we always get whenever we visit. The flavor is just sweet enough and the noodles have a good bite to them.Otherwise, pork bone soup and bibimbap or kimchi fried rice is always a classic. Every option is good here and the family that owns the place is super nice. Their side dishes are fresh and include cucumbers, potatoes, and fish cake.
Awesome Korean place in Waterloo. The owners are really nice and the service is good. Pretty chill atmosphere that's great for a meal with friends.
We went to Onnuri Waterloo for an early dinner on a Wednesday, it wasn’t too busy so we were seated right away. We were given physical menus and water soon after. We ordered quite a bit for 2 people but we quite hungry that day.We were served the starter, fried mandoo (dumplings) pretty quickly and it was so crispy and a highly recommended dish to share. Following that, we waited a bit longer for the rest of the dishes to come. The side dishes were served along with the main course. The kimchi jeon (pancake) was well flavoured and a good portion. The JaJangMyun is a staple, something that I always get when I go to a Korean restaurant. The portion was good, the noodles were a bit chewy (just how I like it), but I felt like the sauce lacked a bit of flavour, it was more subtle. Finally, the pork cutlet was only okay for me. There was way too much sauce on the cutlet that it got a bit soggy after a while and the rice portion could have been bigger. The pork itself was a little rougher than other pork cutlets I have tried and it wasn’t crispy. The service was pretty positive overall, our waitress checked in on us, refilled our water jug and got us more napkins. Glad I tried this place so I could review it!
Great new Korean place to try! The fried chicken are quite large and the portions are decent given the price (also comes with a side of fries). They are extra crispy (the only thing was we ordered snow fried chicken which is usually topped with powdered cheese, but got melted cheese on top instead when ordered). I also got the kimchi bulgogi, which tasted great. It was very flavourful and tasted authentic. The service was also friendly and outstanding! The restaurant is decent sizing, and was able to fit a large group (~13 people) at one table.
A little expensive but their food is pretty tasty. I really like their Sundubu but can also attest to their Tteokbokki, Honey Garlic Fried Chicken, Bulgogi, and Pork Bone Soup!
A couple side dishes came with the main dishes we ordered and they were all tasty! Similar with most restaurants in Korea which is nice ;) Good price and portion also. The only concern I had was everything was a bit too salty but it was all still delicious.
The food is good but don’t understand why there’s only one waitress during weekend busy hours….we literally waited at the door to be seated for 20mins while there’s spot available and waited another 20mins to have something to drink….the restaurant is packed and there are lots of takeout orders so be prepared to wait for at least 1hr to have your food. MAKE sure u grab a snack before u come here?for the service I just wouldn’t want to dine-in again. The restaurant only likes to prepare Uber orders so don’t understand why open dine-in
Deliciously-made Korean food and good service. Definitely one of the better Korean restaurants in the Waterloo region. Super authentic! Price is also average and lots of menu options!
