I went to Kens Sushi House for lunch today. I arrived early, 11:24 am. They open at 11:30 am. I was the first one there and a server told me they open at 11:30 and to wait in a booth she allocated. When 11:30 came, the same server then seated the next people that arrived followed by the 3rd party. She then came back to seat me. The place she chose for me was not where I would have chosen, given there were many options. I then was served by a different server who took my order. I was not asked throughout my meal if it was ok or if I needed anything else. (No refill on the tea) When I asked for the bill, the first server came with her cash machine and at this point said "Everything was good?" I answered that the service was poor at which point she laughed. Although the food was ok I would not return here. I normally tip 20% on my meals but today I did not tip since the service was poor.
This is my favourite restaurant in Waterloo. The service is always nice, the price is fair, and the food is always extremely delicious. It is my go-to spot to hang out with my friends. Note that it can get quite busy during dinner rushes, especially on weekends, so make sure to avoid the rush hours if you want to be seated quickly. My favourite are the snow white, scallop island, fuji, and fire rolls.
Very delicious. Everything was very fresh and well prepared. Presentation was on point aswell as flavor profile. This place is good enough to rival with the rest of them. I can't give it full stars because was not the best Iv ever had and the table service was slow. There is a buzzer for service right on the table, so no waiting for the server to notice you need something (in theory) atleast. The staff was polite and courteous. Price point was not bad, two of us ate our fill for under 70$ all in, including a generous tip.This place is definitely worth checking out if you're cracing sushi and in the area.
Probably the best sushi in town, the quality is there and the price was a bit much but you’re paying for quality. The royal salmon combo is probably the best value for the portion you get. If you’re looking to get salmon sashimi order the 8 pieces in the appetizer section that is the same on the sushi section for 5 pieces. Same price but more quantity.
Nice restaurant with great service and good food. Ordered "Teriyaki Tofu Dinner" came with miso soup, rice , grilled vegetables and Tofu. Tofu was very well cooked crispy but still soft. Other one ordered is "Spicy King Combo" .. the building has a free 2 hour parking too
Went there last week and the service by this very aggressive and short response server is not acceptable. Also messed up one order. Miso soup was watery, I think they forgot the miso. The tempura was overcooked and the rolls had pretty skimpy rice around them. Perhaps with two physical expansions, they are trying to cut costs or are in too much in a hurry.
Fist time here with the wife and it was astounding! Great menu, very quick service, and tasty food. Everything came out in order and was presented very well. Friendly staff, and great atmosphere. I cant say enough. If your looking for sushi go here!
Try the Angry tuna roll
As someone who has had some world class sushi, I’m going to start by saying I don’t ever go to all you can eat places as fish quality matters and a set price makes no sense when all fish doesn’t cost the same. This will matter to some people looking for a great sushi experience. This place is good. Service is average because it is busy but the team is extremely friendly and they want to provide a great experience. Where this place shines is in the quality of fish and the skill of the chefs. Go if you are picky about food quality. Go if you like friendly staff and go because you want to support well run family businesses.
Good sushi and service. The sushi tasted fresh and the service was great. The ambiance is open and the mural wall was a nice touch. The seats are quite private as well. The price for food is a bit on the higher end but wasn’t too bad. They also have quite a bit of options for different and unique sushi. Would recommend if looking for good quality sushi in the area!
