Visited for the first time last night, very impressed! I had never had hot pot before, the employee was very helpful and friendly, explained how everything worked and made great suggestions on options. I tried the Tonkatsu base and it was excellent. They have extensive options for creating your own sauce as well. Everything was very fresh, and it was a fun experience overall. The gentleman working was so kind, anytime we went to the counter to ask for anything he didn't make us wait, and told us he would bring it to our table. Will definitely be going back!
I had such a fun time dining in! I enjoyed ‘shopping’ for my hotpot ingredients. They had a variety of soup bases too and I look forward to trying some more. I had the Tonkotsu base, it was flavourful but I think that it needs a little more kick. Overall, the experience was unique and I would definitely suggest giving this place a try.
[Dine-in review amid pandemic]Bit of an unconventional hotpot experience where ingredients are first purchased in a mini-supermarket setting before sitting down. Each seat has its own induction stove and every broth is served in a mini pot wherein each person can have a personal mini hotpot. Overall I really enjoyed the experience and I think it makes a lot of sense for smaller groups. It also helps for picky eaters (like me) where I often despise when a communal hotpot becomes an abomination of different flavours. Here you can have your own broth and control what goes into it. Be mindful of the spice levels as they are quite strong on the higher end.Staff were incredibly kind and ensured our enjoyment of the experience.
Nice place. Quiet and typically pretty empty, with a great environment. Food is good too.

Had (really authentic) hotpot. This restaurant makes it possible for single-person broths. :)You purchase ingredients, a broth per person, grab sauces, utensils, and then sit down at a table. This allowed us to enjoy two completely different flavors of broths, unlike other places where its one mixed soup.Ordered the numb+spicy and ginseng chicken. Both great, but definitely very oriental flavors. Ginseng chicken was great (though it is bitter due to the ginseng, which may not be for everyone).Fave dipping sauces were peanut japanese.Had two teas, chrysanthemum and longan, both amazing and strong iced teas, not overly sweet. Longan is probably for everyone, while chrysanthemum is for people looking for it. Both super refreshing.Really tasted similar to what I had back in Asia. One thing is that due to covid (and perhaps takeout?), each portion is vacuum sealed, and ends up producing a bunch of plastic waste when dining in. Although easier for takeout, I would love to see plates, once covid is a bit more under control.
Soup is really good and yummy!!
Best ramen place in Waterloo! Staff there is always super nice and their takeaway packaging is super thoughtful and top notch.
Got takeout ramen during a buy one get one free promo. Very rich broth, super legit red date tea, and perfectly soft boiled marinated egg. Excellent attention to detail. Great deal with the promoMay or may not be a criticism but the packing is ROBUST. Soup came separately from the ramen which is important so it doesn't get soggy, but each came in a rather thicc plastic bowl. I'll be reusing it and eventually recycling, but not everybody will. Maybe some food for thought for the restaurant to encourage customers to reuse/recycle takeout containers!
The quality for taste isn't there as the tonkatsu was very bland. Would not buy again from here.
