Ordered 2 piece Haddock and Chips. Paid $14 and got barely enough fries for 1 person and most of them were tiny bits and not even fries. The batter on the fish was so salty it was barely edible and small portions. I've paid similar elsewhere and gotten so much food we could barely finish it. This was my first time here and I won't be back. Better value for my money elsewhere!
Absolutely amazing. We are relatively new to the area but have already tried a few other places. Granny Bonn’s definitely stands out. In my experience what makes or breaks a fish and chips place is three things. The quality of fish. The batter. And how fresh the oil is. Nothing worse than getting something fried in old, rancid oil. Very pleased to share that this place did everything right. Tasted fish, amazing batter that is not burnt but very flavourful and fresh oil. And to top it off both the owners are a friendly couple who welcomed us to the neighborhood and we had a great conversation. Looking forward to many returns.
Went there yesterday for Good Friday fish and chips. Was absolutely horrible. I think the fish had been sitting under a heat lamp. Was greasy, hard and dried out. The fries were dripping in grease and limp as noodles. Will never go back there, ever.
Excellent fish and chips. Did the Good Friday Halibut special today and it was delicious. Nice and light batter. Crispy fried. Something about the oil they use is very umami.
Just went to Granny Bonn's for Good Friday dine in. Terrible. Cold. Fish was hard and fries were cold and greasy. My hubby got sick driving home after. They gave us food that was sitting in a take out box for how long? Too long obviously. Never again.
Came here to get lunch for my parents. I called ahead to order, the lovely lady on the phone was extremely happy and friendly. Made me smile for weeks. Went to pick up my order, chatted with her for a bit. The food was more than five stars. My parents could not stop talking about how that was the best fish and chips they have had in a very long time. Thank you for making our day special.
Tried this place again after two years. Thought after all the positive reviews that they may have changed.Ordered a six pc family meal. Thought something was up when it was ready in less that five minutes.Still the same old greasy smelly product. Definitely NOT worth the money. Never go back again.
Delicious halibut. So crispy and light. Fries were fresh and tasty. The coleslaw and gravy were also very tasty. The service was friendly. I’d gladly eat here again.
Food was great. I was worried food would be really greasy like other fish places (cough cough Sonny's cough) But this place was tasty, fair prices and good service. :)
Good price. Halibut was really flakey and batter perfect. Coleslaw a big disappointment
