We got Chef On Call to cater our work lunch. They came in and setup in our work kitchen. Everyone enjoyed the food!
We ordered chicken tenders, curly fries, and shakes. The tenders and fries were too oily for our taste. The marinara sauce was almost frozen, and did not taste good.However, if we pass by this place another time I will definitely order their shakes again. Shakes will be 1/2 price if you order using Chef on Call's app.
Came here quite a few times for late night eats. They are open until 2am, so it’s very convenient for students pulling all nighters nearby. Food here is kind of expensive, but it gets the job done when you’re in a pinch. As you can see, I’ve been in quite a few of those situations based on how many times I’ve eaten here. I’d recommend their curly fries and mushroom melt burger! Oh and their app definitely needs a UX/UI makeover.
The guest wifi wasn’t working so I struggled writing a review for them for my free curly fries. Kinda weird of them offering “free fries” but you need to purchase something else with the “free fries”. Got the 6 tenders with fries. The tenders were big and juicy and filled with 100% meat which you don’t see everyday. The 2 free dipping sauces were offered but the sauces were inhaled after 2 chicken tenders so I had 2 left without sauces sadly.
Chef on Call has delicious comfort food located right below the Hub. They’re usually open till 2am and 4am on Fridays and Saturdays. They also do free delivery if you’re within a certain area.Every day of the week there is a special, but you have to go pick it up in store. We got their Tuesday special which is $10 for a pasta and a drink. Our favourite is the Gambino’s pasta (originally $17), you can swap the fettuccine out for penne if you want. Another one of our favourites is the Maple Crisp burger ($18), I also prefer their chicken patty over their beef patty. Don’t forget about their curly fries, those are a classic!We also got the milkshakes, I prefer their classics so I got the strawberry but they also have specialty ones like the oreo and skor. These are really good, but they also melt quite fast so just beware.The prices are a bit expensive but if you take advantage of their deals, they are definitely worth it. The food is delicious and it is quite accessible, I recommend Chef on Call Waterloo!
If I could give Chef On Call 6/5 stars, I would. Shoutout to Gabe because the service was incredible, I was very impressed! He’s super personable and easy to talk to :)Luckily, their food is also amazing- you can really taste the difference in the quality of their ingredients.The chicken is moist and perfectly crispy, and not over cooked like other places we’ve had. We got a chicken and veggie burger and it was so flavourful and filling. Also love that most of their sauces are made in house. My favourite was the garlic mayo *chef’s kiss*Excited to come back again!
Actual BOMB curly fries. These have been my guilty pleasure here. Super nice texture with the crunch and nicely seasoned too. The wait is pretty slow for the times we went but they had nice service. Our ordered got messed up once and they gave us an extra to make up for it.
Awesome restaurant! I mentioned my husband was looking forward to a “good burger” for his birthday and chose Chef on Call cause it’s always delicious! They thoughtfully sent a happy birthday message and a cookie for him. Above and beyond and not necessary! I was sharing solely so they knew we appreciate them!
Been calling Chef on call for 5 years! Best chicken tenders. Make sure to order the garlic sauce on the side!
Food was really good, the staff is really nice and smiling. The chicken is really tender and tasty. The milkshakes are very refreshing.
