Had a sandwich and a pastry for lunch here the other day. The bread is the star of the show and tasted like a sandwich I'd have on a picnic. I bought some bagels to take home and they are far and away the best bagels I've ever eaten.Highly recommend this place for a simple lunch and good bread.

Incredible! The staff were friendly and helpful! My first experience will certainly not be my last. Out of province visiting but any trips made in the general location will include a visit to this amazing cafe!

An authentic neighbourhood experience with friendly staff and proper German baking. The baked goods are delicious and so tempting. They cater for those with gluten intolerance/allergies.

Ordered an authentic custom made German torte. Amazing customer service from start to finish by Roland and team. The cake and pasteries were absolutely delicious!

Love this place!! On a Saturday morning I'll go just for the pretzel baguettes. They're unbelievably good. I've also tried some sweets here and everything is excellent. There has been a bakery operating at this location for decades and is a testament to their offerings. I recommend a visit to anyone looking to cruise to flavourtown.

I really don't understand why it has such good reviews. I went there multiple times and each time I regretted. From Google you would think you're walking into a bakery, will get smell of fresh bread/pastry etc. Nope, it doesn't exist here. Don't try the pastries at all, they are horrible. Even boxed supermarket cakes taste WAYYY better than these. Breads are fair enough, I always just get bread from there. Another negative thing is that they are closed too much. Always have to double check in google

It is a nice community bakery. It has a good assortment of baked goods and bread. The cinnamon egg bread makes really good French toast.Plus a couple wheat/GF things. The staff is friendly too.

Fantastic baked goods. I didn't get a chance to eat at the Cafe part but I'm sure it is good. Really nice staff as well. Glad I live close by.

This place is fantastic! I take my whole family there often as all the pastries and breads are delicious. On top of that the people are extremely nice and courteous. I do strongly recommend people to try Bread & Bretzel :)

Good pastries at a fair price. I tried a pig's ear, a black forest roll, a sausage roll, a pretzel and a chocolate tart. They also make their own chocolate so I sampled a dark chocolate with hazelnut square. The pigs ear had wonderful lamination and was super crisp and flaky but a bit dark on the one side and would have benefited from cinnamon or some more sugar. It was still superior to many other of these I have tasted just from the quality of the baking. The black forest roll was the stand out to me. The chocolate was tempered and the generous cherry filling was sour and a huge burst of flavour. Outstanding! The chocolate tart pastry was nice a short if maybe a tad thick and the inside was oozy and not oversweet. Would eat again. The sausage roll was flavourful with just the right amount of spice and delicious even when cold. Not particularly flaky but perfect for a take and eat without a mess. The pretzel was what I had to think about the most...especially how they compare to my beloved Grain Harvest. The thing that impressed me most was the texture. These really nailed the balance between the chew on the outside and the soft fluffiness inside. I think i will need to grab a GH one and one of these and eat them side by side to make a definitive ruling. They are both excellent. All and all very pleased with this bakery and will be back.
