My wife, son and I had the most wonderful experience at this spot. The gentleman in the boat gave EXCELLENT service and was proud and knowledgeable about the menu. There were outdoor games and comfortable seating for guests. We had the marlin and swordfish steak which were both amazing. Both dishes felt like they would be more at home in a modern restaurant then at a roadside stand.Definitely worth visiting!
Excellent Cod and French fries meal. A hint of spice and gentle coating. No pancake batter, more fish and cooked perfectly. Fries home cut and golden brown and got malt vinegar on the side. Friendly server and place an overall gem!
Well I have to say growing up in Newfoundland has made me picky when it comes to fish. When I saw this place was a boat I was instantly intrigued. We arrived here a bit early so we had to wait a little for the owner to get the kitchen ready which was ok with me, it was a beautiful day and we were not in a rush. He played some music which I loved. The owner was extremely friendly which made our experience even better, some people just have that gift of personality, he was definitely one of those people. We had the halibut and calamari with fresh cut fries and I have to say it was definitely in my top three for best fish. Most places I have to coat my fish in tartar sauce just to give it some taste but not here, however the tartar sauce was fantastic but it just added to the meal and wasn’t required. I would rate this place higher if possible. Please ignore the 1 star reviews for this place and go there when you are not in a rush and enjoy the atmosphere and hospitality. We will definitely come here again when we travel this way.P.S… The cake was fantastic!!
This is a case of can't judge a book by its cover. Old boat and lighthouse on a small lot looking in need of repair. But inside the food cooked was excellent. Fish and batter done just the was it should be and no shortage of fries. This place took the cake...actually we took the cake and enjoyed it as well.Worth the stop if you're in St. Jacob's.
Fish & Chips 10/10Lobster, Calamari & Shrimps 10/10The guy who owns the place and served us 11/10Good vibes, good music and great quantity for a low price.Worth visiting the place for people nearby, definitely coming here again with my friends.
The red snapper tastes amazing! And the chips are crisp and fresh, lovely place and really nice service
My husband and I were at the Antique Market and were hungry so we decided to stop by for some fish and chips. Believe me when I tell you this was HANDS DOWN the best I've ever had. The batter was light and crispy, and the chips were perfection. There is such a large selection of food (vegetarian friendly!) The quality of the food is outstanding, and the chef is the friendliest, hardworking guy! You can taste the love he has for his work in the food. We will definitely be back, and we are bringing people with us!
Excellent tasty fish. Nice portion size. Highly recommend! The gentleman that served us today was a real treasure. He was so excited to share his craft and we had a wonderful chat. Super delicious lunch and exceptional service
My worst food experience ever in EVERY aspect. Relied on the good reviews but pictures online are completely false advertising. If a business cannot handle the volume, they should not take your money. This dinner was not cheap! A McDonalds filet of fish would have been 100 times more appetizing…. Unbelievably disappointed. Fatal business error Good Friday
Holy ***************************! My brother and I had no idea where we were going and then showed up at this awesome boat with lights in the dark. The kindest man cooked us everything from scratch, played music while we waited and made sure we got exactly what we wanted… it was an amazing experience and the fish was incredible! But the highlight was the fresh made tartar sauce: you could eat a bowl of it!! Fresh delicious food, at a quaint boat with high hopes of coming entertainment and gatherings! Lovely!
