The most delicious fish I have ever had in my life. I do not like the fries as it is often not too fresh in my opinion, but the tasty fish makes up for it! I love how friendly the service is as well. Things I would improve is price of food (a bit high for the portion) and the fries quality. Overall, I would recommend this local restaurant.

Halibut House is a place that specializes in our beloved fish & chips. A small establishment from Port Perry that grew over the past decade to become a large fish & chip franchise in Ontario. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but inspired our fish appetite!Haddock & Chips order had an impressively sized fish fillet piece along with plenty of thick cut fries underneath. For takeout, we were peeved that they used pre-packed condiments for tartar sauce rather than provide some homemade or dine-in option. But the fish itself was golden & crunchy on the outside with pleasant flaky fillet texture inside. Well worth it, and they even offer $11 Sun/Mon specials.As for the Halibut & Chips, we were sadly underwhelmed by our first attempt. The fish is firm, mild in flavour with perhaps a little bit of sweetness. It tasted rather bland. We may have to try it fresh to see if it's an acquired taste. Otherwise we'll stick to cod/haddock. The fries accompanying both were a tad soggy but did a bit better with a splash of S&P.To be honest, we've had comparable fish & chips elsewhere. We've even started to rely on our own air fryer at home to cut some grease. However, for convenience it's good to know that Halibut House is a fish & chip option just a stone's throw away from us!
Very glad I found this spot. The cod was delicious. The batter is not thick or salty, perfectly crunchy. Grilled salmon is also very tasty. Overall, very attentive staff and good portions. Will definitely come back.
I can't comment on the fish but the breakfast was just meh ....the eggs benny's was disappointing...the poached eggs were hard and what they call hollandaise is nothing but Mayonnaise....we were not impressed
Best fish and chips that I’ve had whilst living in Canada . As a Brit I can say you guys nailed it , large portions , huge fish battered to perfection, we’ll definitely be back and highly recommend
I've eaten here 5 times since it opened and the halibut and chips is always delicious. I tried the sweet potato fries with my parents for the 1st. time and they did not disappoint. Emily and Ching Ching (2 of my servers) are always so pleasant.
First time there and I'm hooked. Fish was fresh and tasty, fries were perfect. My only knock on this place was the tarter sauce ( cmon you need to make your own) other then that it was great and a must try
Went for Breakfast today All 3 meals were great! Our server Charlene was extremely friendly!!
LOVE IT!!!Portion is so huge, I had to bring an entire box of left over fries bag home for late night snack :)The only improvement area if anybody asks me would be maybe a little more coleslaw instead of extra fries- only because i loved the coleslaw so much Will def come back
