Service is great & they added more vegetarian dishes (especially dim sum). There is a bit of a wait at the entrance (wait for a table). The waitress Maggie was very attentive, always came back to refill the tea cups & once she noticed I was vegetarian, she reorganized the dishes so that the vegetarian dishes were placed in front of me. Food was really good, pretty plating & many unique dishes.Ps: some photos are from past visits (photo after the taro tarts), some dishes are no longer on the menu
The menu was impressive and enjoyable although it was very expensive for dimsum because they use fancy ingredients. A lot of the dimsum is overpowered by the regular shrimp flavour. I was more impressed with the presentation and idea than the actual food. The desserts, mango pudding and walnut bun, were our favourite parts.
We had a great chat with our server, Nelson. All the best for him. Service was overall exceptional. We loved the flaky buns, rice rolls and oh man, the Singaporean noodles were amazing. Totally worth it for the service, taste of the food & atmosphere. Will come back with parents.
Been a fan of this spot for a bougee dim sum moment but decided to stop by to check out their dinner a la carte menu instead this time around. The menu was definitely on the $$$ so we skipped on familiar dishes like sweet and sour pork (although i love classic chinese dishes i didn’t feel like splurging on something so homey and typically affordable).I tried some of the more interesting dishes to me on the menu like the abalone, crispy maple pork, singaporean slaw, yuzu ribs and yu seafood fried rice.Totally obsessed with the yuzu ribs and fried rice! The ribs had such a delicious yuzu citrusy flavour that was just so addicting after each bite~The fried rice had a light umami flavourful and loaded with tender abalone and juicy scallops. A huge fan of this rice dish! The cold abalone appetizer was not it for me. The medicinal flavours was VERY strong and reminded me of my childhood in all the wrong ways lol. Albeit healthy, this is a strong pass. It was also super tough just no.The pork was crispy but a bit dry. The maple glaze did help mitigate the dryness of the pork but it was a mind blowing menu item. The presentation for every single dish was stunning as expected at Yu Seafood. The customer service was fast, efficient and smooth. The restaurant is beautiful and polished. The food is pricey but it is located inside Yorkdale and marketed as such. I had a pleasant dining experience but definitely a bigger fan of their dim sum.
Tucked away on the second floor in a corner of the mall, this restaurant has great decor, good service and good food, and it should for the steep price tag.The dish presentation was creative and visually appealing (ex. chicken served in a birdcage, duck carved table side) and the flavours were balanced between sweet and spicy and savoury. Portions were big and the courses were not rushed.I’d be interested in seeing what their sushi or dim sum is like, but would go back for a nice dinner or special occasion.
Great ambiance!Be prepared to pay for the tea whether you are eating dimsum or not. Even when you ask for water the waitress would ask if you want bottle or tap. I find that interesting because I would never pay for water in a Chinese restaurant. I guess they really position themselves as “ fine dining”. But as a Chinese we don’t expect to pay for water.Food was average. Prices are definitely higher and portion smaller. Most of your bucks go toward the expensive rent in Yorkdale and renovation. I am more practical. I rather go to “regular” Chinese restaurants where they would serve us tea for free, same quality or better food. By the way, the services were average. The total bill after taxes and tips were $200 for 4 girls. Pictures included all the dishes we ordered plus 4 deep fried dumplings, and jasmine tea.
Great food and beautiful decor! Service is fair, should be much better given it’s a high end restaurant. My only dissatisfaction is they charged $16 for tea for two people which is ridiculously expensive. The tea is not even high quality just average.
High quality of seafood and many delicious Asian dishes. Beautiful and classy decor. Wonderful customer service. A great place to enjoy a delicious meal with friends and family at Yorkdale mall.
Food 5/5I have been regular customer at their Markham location for a long time.Food is just as great with better presentation here.Place:Very very nice interior design! Recommend for business meal/ date or any events/ important occasion!Price 4/5Higher price than the Markham location. But considering its inside Yorkdale and is also better design, it make sense.
Good menu and food, good service.
