A great way to get a dinner and a show. We did the teppanyaki table and had a really great time. I got the NY sirloin with garlic butter and it was fantastic. The veggies and fried rice they give you is also really good along with the miso starter. Highly recommend for someone looking for more than just a meal.

I've had the opportunity to dine here twice now. Once at the hibachi table, and once a la carte. Our hibachi experience was great. Very benihanna "esque". More experience, less entertainment. Good was great, a bit pricey but definitely worth it as the food was amazing. Our a la carte experience was also amazing. We had a bit of a mishap with one of our soups as we wish we were told it was a beef/pork broth. This is important information, and needs to be shared with customers. I had already consumed half of it before thinking to ask. They replaced it immediately with a miso soup.Udon bowl was amazing with veggies, and will definitely order again. The sushi here is as expected with a Japanese restaurant, fresh, tasty and delicious.

Ate here last weekend, and had one of the most enjoyable dinners out that we have had in ages. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and definitely appreciated having so many people back in their restaurant after the slowdown of the pandemic. Tried an assortment of items on the menu, and each was superb. In particular, the sushi was some of the freshest I have had in ages. Thoroughly enjoyed watching the tepanyaki chefs working their magic at the grills. Can’t wait to go back!

If you are looking for the most entertaining and spectacular meal out to celebrate a special occasion, this is it! Wow, we were blown away by the skills of our teppanyaki chef, doing acrobatics with his cooking tools and keeping us fully engaged from start to finish of our meal. I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It was the very best way to celebrate our 50th anniversary with our family!

Experience very good. Food I’ll say not that special but the process of cooking is extremely interesting.Excellent place for most events and family. A little bit noisy. Maybe not a good place for proposal.

Went for lunch during weekend and they were busy. But their service was still great and food was fresh and tasty!

We had a wonderful time at Yamato’s.They were able to squeeze us in as a walk in.The service was attentive, the food pretty good, but the tappanyaki is the real reason to go here.Though the restaurant is located in yorkville and costly, this is definitely not a high dining experience. Other patrons were in jogging pants, the restaurant can get loud and rough and the food is basic (and yummy).

Nice Japanese restaurant, price and portion are reasonable, great staffs, comfortable environment and good vibes. Tapanyaki chef is entertaining, but…….the food just tooooooooo salty!!! Expect this, overall is fine. By the way, reserve $10-15 extra for parking. It’s not easy to get a street parking spot, depends on your luck ?

Really enjoyed my dinner here. Entertaining and delicious. I recommend trying the green tea tiramisu, it was surprisingly delicious.

I live in Mississauaga and purposely drive downtown to pick-up Sushi from Yamato. The best sushi I have ever eaten. Sushi is all about the freshness and preparation, and Yamato has both. Their service is exceptional and they are all about customer service and quality. Bad customer reviews are biased, be nice to receive good service. Yamato’s is excellent food and service. Picking up lunch today !!!
