This is maybe the 3rd/4th time ive tried this place and its always been ok. The staff are great, friendly and helpful, its just the food, for me is just mediocer. Our food (omlette and home fries, a breakfast and a mac n cheese) took maybe over 20-25minutes to come. It wasn't busy, so i'm not sure what the delay was. The mac n cheese was very bland, the sausages on my breakfast were over cooked, the home fries were tasteless and my rye toast wasn't buttered as requested. The omelette was very tasty though. Great little diner but the food always leaves me disappointed.
I found a large hair in my food (about 3 inches long) which I then proceeded to pull out of my sandwich and alert the staff. The first staff member didn't do anything about it and got his coworker instead to attend to me.After I told her, she asked if I wanted it remade or discounted. I didn't have the time to wait (I was never checked on while dining either, I couldn't easily find staff either) so I asked for a discount, assuming that it would at least be a reasonable amount because I was fine paying for the Coca-Cola can I'd been given. She only gave me 30% off, and only applied it to the contaminated sandwich.I will strongly discourage anyone I know from coming here.Appalled that I ended up spending around $20 here.
The food was fantastic! My husband and I ordered the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich with pulled pork and the uncle Betty's burger, both were sooooo good. Will definitely go back!!Service may have been a little slow but genuinely pleasant and friendly :) exercise patience lol
The food is great and it's worth going back for, however it takes a VERY long time to come out and the service leaves room for improvement. There are a lot of pleasant kids (young adults) that work here but their sence of urgency, efficient and awareness of the customer is lacking. 6 staff chatting at the bar about their weekend instead of bringing out the drinks that are sitting there is frustrating to watch. Also, you will likely half to ask for somethings or most things twice (water, mayo, milk, cream, maple syrup, sugar and more....) and if you still don't get it because they forgot... again, I recommend you ask someone else. It's family owned (which means this will likely not change) and since i like to support a community business I'll say this... when you go make sure you have a lot of time and patience.
Ate here for the first time today with my hubby. Really good vibes, throwback music which I love! Service was a tad slow but it was Sunday morning and they were busy so I understood. I got the banana bread French toast lol it was sooooo good but so filling for the first meal of the day lol we will definitely be back!
A great place to go and have a coffee or ice cream. The staff are very friendly. The place is very clean, organized and colourful.
Devoured my plate clean! Good portion size & tasty side salad. Sad to see that the menu has changed in the last couple of years since being here - their famous donuts were noticeably missing from the dishes on the menu. Would be higher stars but the dining service felt rushed at times & we were not asked for our vaccine passports.
Never again. We made a reservation, called to confirm that reservation and we were told that everything was good to go. We arrived at their restaurant with our friends after driving an hour to get there. Restaurant was closed. Who does that? We’ve called several times since they to get an explanation and no one will return our calls. We’ve been to Uncle Betty’s many times in the past and always loved the food. Guess some things have changed. Won’t be back.
Patio is nice. Service was very slow (more than 1 hour to get our food) which is disappointing especially when we had a hungry 4yr old child with us. Staff was nice though. Quality of food was average and some of the vegetables weren’t fresh. I was even served dirty cutlery. Previous reviews were positive so I hope the place picks up again.
Nothing fancy but good down home cooking. Very relaxed, waiters are so nice and friendly. Great place to go and avoid all of the high end restaurants in the area.
