Amazing food and great Atmosphere
I had a great experience at this restaurant. My friends and I were greeting warmly and offered fantastic food items. The taste was out of this world. I really enjoyed my time here and I felt welcomed. We weren't able to sit out on the patio due to the high volume of people but we were seated in the back area of the restaurant.Great food, Delicious Beer. Fantastic Time
Stumbled quite happily upon this place one cold evening. My wife and I lived in Japan for more than 15 years, and I can confidently say that this is some of the best ramen I have ever had outside of Japan. Some of the best food, period. Everything was delicious. The staff were awesome. The atmosphere funky and friendly. If I lived in Toronto, I'd probably be here weekly!
Friendly and attentive service. The broth of the ramen is rich and flavorful. I like how they put loads of green onions to boost the flavor. Will go back if I am at downtown.
The restaurant is messy and not clean.Menus are super sticky. The eggs in the ramen is disappointing, not much flavour, yet you will have to pay extra $2 to add an egg for garlic oil ramen. The ramen broth is not piping hot when arrived at our table. Not sure if it’s because we ordered 3 bowls of ramen and they want to serve all 3 at the same time. They only 2 things I like about this place is the “mini” option, so for people like me who can’t finish a regular size ramen can benefit from that. Also, the texture of the thin ramen noodles are cooked to perfection. Not too soft.
Made a pit stop at this cute little joint during a fall gravel ride??♀️?The service was quick and food was extremely tasty with loads of flavor ?? was great to warm up and re-fuel. Didn’t want to leave, the environment was so cozy! Can’t wait to venture out back here ??
Tondou is a great place to be. The food there is always excellent, and staffs are very friendly. I've known them since they were Ryoji the izakaya and the quality of their service and food hasn't seemed to fade not even a bit. I'm in uptown of Toronto, so a bit out of the way for me but out of all the ramen joints in the city I come to Tondou the most. The owners are wonderful couples, too! I highly recommend this place.
Tonkatsu Ramen was decent. Typical ramen flavours. Broth was a bit too salty for my liking. Chicken karaage was juicy with big pieces. Matcha beer was interesting. Nice atmosphere on their outside patio and it felt warm on a chilly evening.
I will give a five star review when you fire the server supervisor. All the other staff was a wonderful experience. Unfortunately the server supervisor has no idea how to talk to paying costumers . For my first experience at Tondou it was a rollercoaster ride amazing at the beginning and dropped straight down when this supervisor proceeds to argue at my table for drinks I ordered in abundance to meet last call at 10:30 on a Friday night and this guy had the nerve to tell me that he's not staying open for me ....... well if my money is not good for this employee I will not return while he is working and I do like all food i got to try and the other workers that I meet. Love you Tondou but you need to get rid off this toxic waste off an employee before you loose the rest of the good ones.
Awesome variety including vegan and chicken options on this thorough menu. Very reasonably priced! Good patio. Great service too.
