This place was packed for a Thursday afternoon, but worth the wait because everything was so delicious! Ordered the Sticky Icky and the B-LO and both had fantastic flavour profiles. The sweet and fluffy waffles pair amazingly with the chicken and both sandwiches had a little kick of heat that tied it all together. Would absolutely recommend!
This place has gone downhill since they first opened.Went here on a Wednesday and it was empty. Bit unusual but we decided to give it a go nonetheless. I had it twice before and it was both really good.But this time. The staff was in the back and did not respond to any orders even after shouting until about 10 minutes after I arrived.When I finally got my order I was about to eat in but was told its not possible. Didn't question why, I just assumed it was due to covid.Unfortunately by the time I took the food to eat in a park I realized my mistake.The color of the chicken was super dark indicating a lack of fresh oil when frying.Be the judge yourself. The color should be closer to the waffles for reference if they were using fresh oil.I worked in a fast food place before the oil they fry things in needs to be changed regularly otherwise you get this result.On the other handle waffles was good.
Been wanting to go here for awhile, and it was pretty good! It's not a dine-in, sit down restaurant so be prepared for that. The chicken was really tender and the waffle was sort of crispy. I personally would've liked the sauce on the side because most of it was really soggy from the sauce, but still good flavours nonetheless.
The server is very helpful. I had the chicken and waffles so delicious comes with a nice amount of syrup and ketchup. The food chicken is nice and tasty. A nice must stop in to check out.
I asked for the priciest chicken burger and they suggested the B/LO burger. The burger was not spicy but full of vinegar. It was as if they took the chicken meat and submerged it in Frank’s hot sauce. The quality of the meat was the worst since it was chewey. The presentation of the burger was sub-par (as you can see in the picture).Worst of all the price was $10 after tax for this burger which was not worth it.
This may be a bit longer than the average review, but I think this story is worth telling. I am from Calgary and was in Toronto visiting family. Went to the Kensington location and ordered five meals and various side dishes. I should have checked the bags because when I got back to where we were staying in North Toronto, there were several items missing. I called the restaurant and they apologized. They said that they would happily give me a store credit or refund for the items left out, but I would have to return to the store. Unfortunately, it was our last day in TO, so I couldn’t make it back there. Two days after returning to Calgary, I get a call from a guy named Mitchell (I think). He is one of the head honchos at Dirty Bird and had heard about the error with our order. He apologized and told me that he would credit back the entire purchase to my Visa card. Sure enough, a few days later, there is a $90 credit from Dirty Bird. So, I want to thank them very much for the great customer service and follow-up. Oh, and the food? Best gluten free chicken and waffles EVER! See you next time we’re in town!
Loved their Chicken + Waffles! The chicken was very crispy, the waffles are very soft and a classic maple syrupUnfortunately no dine in options but the place was cozy and the guy at the til was the most friendly and approachable. 10/10 highly recommend!
Stumbled upon this place with my hubby and baby today. Wow, just so good! We've eaten a lot of fried chicken from Southern style to Korean and this is probably the best we've had in a long time. There's something in the batter that is really delicious and perfectly crispy. The chicken itself was juicy and flavorful and the Dirty fries went really well with it. Will definitely be coming back!
Definitely consider myself a chicken sandwich connoisseur, and this by far was the worst one yet, customer service provided by Nusrat at the Kensington location made it worse. Not only did she take 5 mins to acknowledge our presence, she also was incredibly rude when we provided feedback as the quality of the sandwich was subpar. I do not recommend and will not go back!
Fried fried fried.Really enjoyed it and can’t say many details about my experience since it is so simple.I got breaded cauliflower for appetizer came with a sweet and sour sauce which was fresh, crispy and tasty.Also got The Sticky Icky sandwich, crispy and the chicken itself was really tasty and juicy unlike other places.Overall enjoyed!!!!!Suggestion:Add more creative ideas to your menu and maybe have more staff to speed up the process.
