We’ve never had such a long ordeal of an experience at a pub before. It took us over an hour and a half to get food. We were seated, given a menu and told they’d check back in a minute - 30 minutes later after watching people who had been seated after us, I approached a staff member at the bar and another server was sent to our table to take our order. Our drinks came quickly but after another 30 minutes (and again, another table seated after we had finally ordered had gotten their food) we asked for an update on food and were told they would check. We waited another half hour before our food finally came. To their credit, we did both enjoy our meals. And the server was apologetic for how long it took. But I would never come here again and if it wasn’t for the fact that our drinks had come so quickly we would have left rather than stick it out.

June 2022:. Nope. Not impressed. From the 15 dollar meal I was served I guess anything can be called: "English." Went for Brunch on a Saturday and ordered the English Fry Up. The menu states it comes with a smash sausage patty but I got two sausage links. Ok minor detail. But the tomatoes were pretty much raw, no mushrooms, no beans, no black pudding, two small eggs and...from the bag frozen taters?!? The horror. You really should change the name of this thing.PS: The bacon is great. Hang on to that one.July/2018. Lunch for two drops to lunch for one. The fool is still working. Having a huge craving for a burger, I order the Firkin which comes with bacon, cheese & sauteed onions. The meat is nice and the side of onion rings is crisp with the onions being plentiful. Only minor drawback, the burger needs more seasoning. But the Caesar helps wash it all down and craving satisfied. Many a visit for drinks and food with little to complain about. Super nice staff.Note: What NOT to order: Waffle Chicken. Globules of fat in between chicken pieces with a batter that looks and feels like it was made in 1938, frozen and left to be microwaved to a blackened crisp upon the unsuspecting customer. Avoid at all cost.Thank goodness for the coffee.

Felt comfortable in this vibrant space. Had the right amount of ambient noise to talk to those next to me without shouting.Had to get the servers attention a couple times to order food/drinks instead of being approached, but it was kinda nice not being constantly asked if they can get us anything. Very eat at your own pace.

The staff are amazing! They make you feel like family. This is my favourite bar in the village to watch sports and just have a beer after a long day!

My favourite day spot to grab a bite and pint! The food is consistently good and the staff are super friendly. I always enjoy spending a lazy afternoon on the patio watching the Village go by.

This place is fantastic. It's a staple on Church Street. Food is good, servers are friendly, and it's really well managed. I often stop by here when I'm in the neighbourhood.

It hasn't been a singular issue, it just has been many issues over the last year or so, after opening up again. From one of their bartenders (Mckenzie i think) literally body checking me and my partner, to the slow service, the lack of care taken with food allergies... the spirit of hospitality that this place once had is gone. This place has lost me as a patron.A shame as this was one of the first bars I went to on church street when I arrived in the city 12 years ago.

Very friendly atmosphere , patio for the nicer weather never have i seen or heard of an issue or problem at this long time establishment of pub fare and village ambience, food was quick and a the time calamari was perdect , but you can find your fav dish if you visit or online menu , cheers
