A great hole-in-the-wall gem right in Roncevalles! The curry goat, oxtail, and jerk chicken meals are teeming with authentic flavours. Junior who works here is friendly, generous, and knows their stuff. I highly recommend if you're in the neighbourhood and need good eats that hit the spot after a long day.
Had jerk chicken and curry goat. First of all, the guy was so nice! He was one of the nicest perso I've met, very personable and considerate. The hot sauce here is serious business!! I pride myself in high spicy tolerance, but his hot sauce (the very hot) humbled me. The food was extremely delicious and flavourful and clean! Will be becoming a regular here without a doubt.
10/10Passed by after wanted to check the food out and was beyond happy! The location was incredibly clean, the gent behind the counter was fantastic. Very high hygiene standards, masks worn and barriers in place. The jerk pork was the only meal I ordered and it was fantastic, the rice & peas was so good, and the coleslaw too.I can't wait to pass by and run through the menu.Keep up the great work - thank you!!
OMG! This was so delicious and so unlike any other jerk place in Toronto because it's SO SO SO MUCH better. Very highly recommended! One of my best meals ever in Toronto.>>> The smoky flavour sets it apart. This is the real deal.We were a group of four who stumbled into this hole-in-wall place after a Google search following a cold and icy winter urban that left us a hungry. Our group leader is of Jamaican ancestry, has spent much time in Jamaica, and knows her jerk. She confirmed this is what what jerk should be.Again: completely unlike anything else available elsewhere because it's so delicious and authentic.Sure, each dish may be a couple of bucks more than elsewhere....but worth it.A bit like like difference between REAL Chinese food and the fake American version.Best to go for the real thing.
Amazing food. I ordered the curry goat with rice and peas recently. Hands down the best curry goat I’ve ever eaten. Great portions and great flavour. I definitely recommend this place. Will be eating here again :)!!
If you want to get serious about Caribbean food, this is the place. I've had jerk from all over the city, but none I've had is as smokey, juicy, flavourful and delicious as T-Dot's. I highly recommend either the rotis or the dinner with rice and peas. And unlike a lot of places even the well-known ones, you will get real hot sauce: fresh, homemade, slightly fruity, but to be given the respect it deserves. I usually order everything extra hot because I love spice, but I would recommend starting out with medium first, which I found plenty hot. But don't worry, they always give you a bit more pepper sauce on the side if you want to go further.
I've been to a lot of jerk joints and I have to say the food is pretty good. I initially gave a lower rating, but have to say I was too quick to judge on my first visit. Lots of smoky flavor but I'm not a fan of the sweet like coleslaw. The lunch special is cheap at 6 and change but not enough to fill ya up if your really hungry. Id suggest doubling up. I did have to re-edit since going back and have to say you can't go wrong with this place when your in the area.
This was an amazing experience. We got the goat curry and oxtail w/ rice and peas. Probably one of the best combos we've had in Toronto. Spiced to perfection and fantastic portions. We'll be back and back often!
The jerk chicken at this place is the most authentic to the islands that I've tasted so far in toronto. They have options of hot, medium and mild sauce. The only draw back is the price point for the large and medium meal. Although they have a lunch option, but it's small too.I definitely will go back to try the other food options on the menu.
Jamaican cuisine at its best. Junior knows how Try it all jerk chicken and pork ,goat, oxtail , Ackee and cod, snapper I love it all. I have tried many many places this is #1. Close your eyes listen to reggae and eat. You are in Jamaica. IRIE Enjoy
