2nd time eating here and it was amazing!! Had the Egusi soup with pounded yam (my favourite), pepper soup, fish and jollof rice. Just a heads up, the jollof rice was very smoky on this visit, so you may want for it to be less smoky. They also have Nigerian beers and a nice outdoor patio which makes for a really nice vibe. Would definitely go again!
It's my first time trying Nigerian cuisine and I was not disappointed! I had the Pepper Beef and Jollof Rice, and a side dish of Meat Pies. Beef was so tender and seasoned to perfection. The jollof rice to my surprise was smoked and enhanced the flavors. Meat Pies were surrounded by a buttery, flaky pastry that was hard to put down. Do yourself a favor, and come dine here for great tasting food.
I’ll suggest you to dine in the restaurant, but avoid ordering the food to go unless you’re a lucky person. The first time I ordered back in April I ate at the restaurant with my friend and the food was fresh, juicy and tasted EXCELLENT (the waitress was nice too). The second time I went, they were no fish and no puff puff. The third and last time I went I ordered for pick up and ate at the park right in front of the restaurant (to eat it fresh and hot). The fish was EXTREMELY DRY, the fries too. I felt like It was someone else’s order from yesterday (it was not fresh). The puff puff were fresh and PERFECT.
We had a series of events for which Skcookks careered for and they went above and beyond! The rice and chicken/beef/plantain/Kak's chicken was absolutely delicious, and every single person loved it. They usually don't open as early as we needed it, but they came through and the quality of the food was always outstanding. My team and I again, want to say a huge thank you to Skcookks for their hard work! Everyone should check out this spot because it really hits home! Oh and the meat pies in the small chops?? AMAZING!!

Skcooks, your quality is deteriorating and it breaks my heart. I don't see myself trying again after this experience.I first ordered through uber skcooks in May 2021, they were still newish i guess. Best jollof ever...smoky and saucy...loved it. I knew I'd found my joint. When I crave a good jollof, I need it tasty, and that first time they delivered.I ordered again and the next time I noticed the rice was dry and beef tough...thought it was just a bad day so let it go. The plantain was great though. This time, today about 20 minutes ago i got my order...peppered beef with plantain side again. Now, rice dry and plantain was definitely not fresh and I counted about 8 pieces (in the pic I had eaten about 3 pieces - original portion size i reported on uber eats because it was really unacceptable for $5.99) and no coleslaw! The reviews are clear...unhappy customers for about the last 8 months says it all. Before that, the reviews are great. I'm so disappointed...I need a new jollof joint
Really enjoyed the spiciness and smokiness of the jollof rice and the lovely mural. The beef in the peppered beef dish was too tough. Wanted to order the grilled wish and the soup, but they were unavailable even though it was early evening. Instead order the egusi which had chunks of tripe that were also quite tough. Might’ve been more manageable if the pieces were smaller or if we had metal cutlery to slice it up instead of providing us with disposable plastic ones to use.
We ordered jollof rice with jerk chicken and peppered beef. The rice was quite spicy but not flavourful. The meat was dry. You get a lot of rice though, there is enough for at least 2 more meals. I did enjoy the puff puff. It was light, fluffy and nice with the cinnamon flavour. I would definitely order this again.Edit: We realized what made the meal extremely hot was the coleslaw and not the rice! Next time check if they’ve added something chilly in it before you try it.
This is my no.1 plug when it comes to Nigerian food in Toronto. Jollof rice on point, correct Asun, and generous portions of protein. They've got bottled Fanta from 9ja!It feels like Lagos in this restaurant.
I made a last minute order on 24th for catering services for Sunday 26th, the Representative I spoke with was very nice and when I picked up my order the food was more than my expectations. I commend SKCOOKKS. The quantity and taste of the food tasted delicious. Thanks SKCOOKKS.
