Amazing batter. Got the trout and the cod with onion rings and poutine. I preferred the trout because the cod flavour got a little lost, but the trout was awesome. Huge portions. Great onion rings. Fries are old-timey thick cut, which I know can be controversial depending on your personal preference. Perhaps the best fish and chips in Toronto proper.
We were looking for Fish & Chips in our area and researched online. Sea Witch had a great reputation so we tried it. We were not dissappointed. We couldn't try everything, but the Halibut, Halibut Fish Cakes, Chips, Coleslaw and dips were each amazing. My only complaint, since we were 3, is the booth we selected had a small column inventing the seating. We didn't think it would affect us, but when you are 2 people on the bench, it does make it slightly uncomfortable for one.We will be back, even if it's just to sample what looks to be amazing onion rings.
Amazing - even better than I remembered! We don't live nearby and hadn't been here since before the pandemic. But we decided to meet some friends here on the weekend. We were blown away all over again and we're going again tonight with a larger group! We've found that a lot of places aren't as good as they were before the pandemic, but this place, if anything, is better. And amazing that they have woodfield beers! The stout is the best and not always easy to find.
Good taste and fresh fish, but much smoke
Warm atmosphere and friendly staff. Food was great I especially love their cod fish and chips with the poutine upgrade. The prices are fair as well. Take out seems very popular with this restaurant as well.
My favourite fish n chips in the city, the batter is phenomenal. The portions are great, would agree that they could offer complimentary coleslaw, however the tartar sauce makes up for it. If it was socially acceptable, I would drink it. Do NOT skip out on the onion rings, they are the underdog of the menu.
Pickup orders do not get good care. The food sat and got luke warm while they told me to wait, confusing orders. They forgot extra condiments, and they canceled one of the items ordered without calling back to say so - which meant a meal needed to be shared. The mushrooms were soggy, and while the fish portions were decent size, they are overpriced for the overall quality. There are better options locally.
Fish & Chips was good but giving customer service 3 stars. The price was a little high. 1 piece of haddock and alot of fries for $20. Coleslaw was not included that comes as extra.
Amazing fish and chips along with the people who work there! The interior design of the restaurant is really cool as well! I highly recommend! If you can’t dine in the restaurant get the food on door dash it’s worth it!
This place was absolutely terrible. We got both haddock and cod. Haddock was mostly batter the cod was somehow double battered (more on this later) and so much worse. The batter is flavourless and very greasy, like abnormally so even for fish and chips. Cod portions are about 2/3 or haddock in regards to fish amount and yet somehow the same amount of batter. Most of the serving was mediocre potatoes fried in what tasted like months old oil. The dish doesn’t even come with coleslaw, really? Don’t worry you aren’t missing out on much, the slaw is flavourless and watery. Its not creamy or vinegary, just… watery…Bring your own tartar sauce. Had no zing to it at all. Just your run of the mill mayo and diced pickle mix. We had to save it by getting a few capers to bring some kind of life to it.I have no idea how this place gets decent reviews.
