OMG finally got here and we were blown away by the juciest, tastiest burgers! (Banquet & Machine Gun) Flavourful toppings. Perfect bun. Yummy fries and deceptively simple salad. All served outside on real plates with real glasses and cutlery! The owners treated us like honoured visitors to their home. Cant wait to go back and try the pizza! Quality homemade food served by a family. Love love love!
Samaira is an absolute delight. We've been to this family-owned, owner-run restaurant 4 times now (plus 1 delivery) since we discovered it a month and a half ago. And it's apt that the husband-and-wife team named it after their daughter, because they've obviously poured their heart and soul into this place. The menu is deceptively "comfort food" - pizza, burgers, chicken, salad. But given that the chef used to work at Four Seasons, this is nowhere near run-of-the-mill taste and quality. Over our many visits here, we got:- Burgers (meat): We got the Classic Banquette and the Mushroom Swiss. This will sound crazy, but the goodness starts with that dome-like potato bun. It's homemade, puffy, and absolutely tasty. It's so good it's worth ordering by itself to bring home. As for the burgers, the patty is a good size and homestyle crisped well, the cheddar cheese is standard, and the veggies are generous (for the Mushroom Swiss one, there are looooooads of mushroom). Burgers go with side fries (surprisingly addictive) which can be upgraded to a side salad or poutine (generous gravy, squeaky curds).- Veggie Burger: OMG this is easily one of the best veggie burgers I've had in the city. I don't know how else to describe it but to say the "patty" was like a super tasty smoky samosa. So good! Got this one with onion rings which were sweet and not overly battered.- Breakfast Sandwich: Again, that delectable dome of a potato bun, highlighted even more as a sandwich. I find peameal bacon hit-and-miss, but this one was good. And there was a generous amount of egg, cheese and veggies loaded up in this breakfast sandwich.- Margherita Supreme Pizza: An in-between pizza. Not quite homestyle, not fancy-schmancy, not quite puffy American, not quite super thin Nepolitan. The crust is crispy without being cardboard-y, the toppings are generous abd always fresh. Also liked how there are 4 different sizes to choose from, and their large is old-school LARGE.- Chicken Wings: Got this in the maple sticky sauce and I'm glad I did. Not overly sweet, not overly sticky, the wings were uniquely sweet/smoky and the type that leave smear marks on your face since you just keep devouring them.- Chicken Fingers: More hands than fingers given they were so huge! Not overly panko-ed so you can really taste the juicy chicken meat. This comes on a bed of those addicitve fries.- Rose Lemonade: Absolutely refreshing. Would get this in the depths of winter or a scorching summer day.Prices are extremely reasonable especially with the care and quality you get. The place itself is small, but they have a great street patio outside (perfect for the summer). What really make Samaira though is its owners. The last few years have been hard on small businesses the world over. And yet here is a couple who goes in everyday, treats their food and customers with the utmost care, and works as hard as they can to give you a memorable experience. I hope more people visit Samaira, because it was an absolute treat going there. We will definitely be back again.
My husband and I went to Samira yesterday for burgers. We found the burgers so delicious, buns made by them not bought from stores. This was my first observation, the bun looks different from the usual burger buns and when i bite into it tasted so good so I asked the owner if they make their own which he then replied yes. Then digging into the whole burger, the patty was perfect definitely have a flavour and not dry and the condiments perfectly matched it. Overall, we are very satisfied with our meal and we are happy that they are just our neighbours.Cant wait to try their other menus. Highly recommended if you want to have scrumptious burger meal.
I recently had a burger and fries from Samaira's on a whim. What an excellent decision! The burger is honestly the best I've had in a very long time. The bun was impossibly fresh and soft due to it being baked on site. The burger patty was handmade and cooked to perfection in the smash patty method. It had a nice crispy exterior with a medium rare center, you just can't get any better than this. I'm pretty critical with my french fry preferences, and these didn't disappoint. They are a thinner cut and double fried, with a dark brown colour, delicious. The price is definitely on the low side for this level of quality. I'm working around the corner for the next few months and look forward to trying more items from their menu!
I keep meaning to write a review but I get so distracted by how good these burgers are. THE best value and burger EVER. The bun is really the highlight, which sounds crazy but it’s buttery and soft but perfectly crisp on the underside. Awesome homemade patty and delicious fries. The cheeseburger and fries is only $10 - such a great deal. Get a burger, you won’t regret it.
This place probably serves the best burger I've had in Toronto. It's just exquisite - the veggie burger is fantastic as well. The burgers are also really filling, which is a sign of really quality ingredients that actually have some nutrition. The folks who own it are also incredibly nice, and the pizza is great as well. You get a lot of really tasty pizza for a good amount of money, especially compared to some of Toronto's more celebrated pizza places. (and it's not super thin pizza so it actually feels like a meal)
This place is amazing value! I love their story and their food. The burger was amazing, highly recommend.
came across this place while on a walk to find a sandwich and holy cow it did not disappoint! their breakfast sandwich was delicious and came on such a tasty fresh bun. their menu is reasonably priced and their owner is so kind and hospitable! we liked it so much we got one for breakfast the next day.
We ordered the Mushroom Swiss burger, the Machine Gun burger and 2 breakfast sandwiches. Everyone was so impressed by the taste and quality of the food! Amazing! We sat at the outdoor tables in the afternoon sun. The owner is so lovely, we will be sure to come back soon!
Awesome small business!!! And truly one of the best burgers you will have in your life. Accommodating and very kind staff, high quality food made in a timely fashion, and pretty good prices. Will come back and would highly recommend!
