We went on a weekday after work, so it was quiet! Service was very attentive, and they even gave us 2 side dishes off the menu as gratitude. Good was pretty good, sashimi were very fresh, the skewers can be on the grill a little bit longer! Overall a very positive experience, they have a huge selection on sake and drink menu, we ordered one of their sparkling sake, very flavorful!
ABSOLUTE GARBAGE MANAGEMENT. We made reservations for 9 pm. We get there and they told us we had to wait. Sure okay, understandable. It soon became 10:30pm and we were STILL WAITING.The server told us he would talk to management and get back to us... Needless to say, he never came back. They complained that the door was open and the "customers were cold"... We've been standing in the doorway for 1.5hr and we never complained we were "hot" with our jackets on... Or "cold" with out jackets off.Alright, ask me to stand outside and wait then... But then how would I be able to talk to my friends standing and waiting inside?IF people made reservations, then you should be more proactive and let the longest table sitting there know that they have to leave soon.Yeah the beer is cheap $3 a pint of Sapporo after 9pm, with a $15 min food order... Do you want to wait or deal with trash management and employees? The food prices also went up and the portions got smaller. I've been there a month ago and was shocked how much they reduced the portions and increased the price.Unreasonable trash place. Never going back.
Unfortunately, the place isn’t the same anymore. Pre-Covid it was awesome ! Now the sushi was just rice , no fish. My order came wrong and I didn’t want to bother the server because he was the only one working. The sashimi were good. For 120$ for two the food wasn’t the best. Very salty, bad quality and low amount of fish. This used to be my favourite place :(
Came here with a group of friends and had a great experience. Wasn't too busy on a Sunday evening but had a great time. There was a coat rack to hang our own coats as about 9 squished into a booth together (we wanted to sit in the back room where the table is almost floor level, but room was closed unfortunately). We ordered by scanning the QR code that linked to our table #, so anyone was able to place an order. Food came quickly and was delicious. We got a few items courtesy of chef which were much appreciated!
Great place. Very friendly staff and the food was coming in quickly (but not too quickly). I like how they have the booths for more privacy, relatively hard to find in Toronto. The food was great, sushi were ok but nothing special. I would recommend trying something other than sushi/rolls, and sharing with the table. Overall, very good experience:)
Best Izakaya i've been to in Toronto hands down! I loved it so much. Me and my friend ate and drank well, and we were both very satisfied with everything. The staff are very nice and friendly, they also gave us bunch of appetizers on the house <3 Their booths are secluded enough so people actually can't stare at you lol. Great selection of drinks, we had 3 bottles of different sake/wine and also tried hot sake! I can't wait to visit again
My favourite Izakaya. Food is awesome, atmosphere is great, and the servers are friendly. I love getting the house sake, plus what's fresh for the day.
I LOVE Sake Bar Kushi. There's so much to love, they have amazing food, an insane sake selection, their staff is always the nicest and welcome you warmly as soon as you walk through the door, the decor makes you feel like you've taken a trip, and they serve $3 Sapporo's after 9pm. The only bad thing I can say about this place is that they usually close at midnight and that makes me sad because I could stay there all night (but really it's probably smart on their behalf because did I mention $3 Sapporo's?).I highly recommend this place, it's one of my favourites in Toronto.
I've been to Sake Bar Kushi several times within the past 3 years. Service has always been above and beyond and servers are always friendly. It's unfortunate how much prices have increased compared to recent years. Their most affordable menu items use to cost $1.95 but are now $4.95. Nonetheless, foods delicious everytime.
Good atmosphere for both romantic dinner with your another half (booth seating), as well as a group of people (think friends/ coworker).A wide variety of food and sake, as well as daily special. I find the hot food is more special then the sushi/ sashimi, which you can get it pretty much in any other Japanese restaurant with similar price and quality. The hot food really stands out because the yakitori is grill to perfection and the quality is consistent.Hamachi kama (the yellowtail collar) is a must! Didn't get a chance to take a photo and it was all gone! The restaurant sometimes will give you free small dishes on the house, based on what you order (eg. sake).
