I’ve patronized the Yonge Street location several times and have received poor customer service from the older full size woman/store manager. I am always polite and courteous yet she’s rude and shouts at me. Dismissive at times also. I’ve also observed her barking orders at her coworkers who tremble in fear. She’s definitely a pig who can benefit from much needed customer service training. Her customers are PAYING for a product; she’s not doing them a favor. Shame, because while not the best in Toronto, the food is okay coupled with ideal location.
Been eating here for awhile. It’s a good roti. But the staff can be so rude! They forget to put hot sauce on all the time. Like today, I asked for hot sauce. Saw them making it with out hot sauce. So I asked for hot sauce on the side. The lady at counter muttered under her breath, 50 cents. Which I didn’t hear, my colleague told me after. and no hot sauce was put in the bag! Done with how rude this place is. Never eating there again!
Went here for the doubles are all the reviews. The chickpeas and sauce was delicious. The fried bread that it comes in could be better but overall pretty good!
Absolutely disgusting. I was told a lot about this place and decided to give it a try. Regret it now because I have food poisoning and wish I listened to the other reviewers who got food poisoning from eating here.I ordered veggie roti (Chana and potatoes), 2 doubles and plantains. I watched the lady make various food items without washing her hands or wearing gloves. Upto 90% of food is not made fresh or gourmet. Everything is sitting at room temperature and microwaved. The only thing I observed that was made fresh was plantains, which the lady mixed with days old plantain, and put in a box and gave it to me. I could immediately tell from taste which ones were fresh and which ones were stale. One of the fresh plantains still had a peel on it.This place is absolutely gross and they do such a sloppy job of preparing your food, stingy with portions and reheating old food items, and stale taste. I asked for hot sauce on the side and I was told after I paid that it's extra. What kind of place charges extra for sauce that is supposed to come with your food? I was just put off by everything. I watched the lady drop a pre made fried chicken leg into the same oil as the plantain was cooked in. Repulsive!I realize now that the red flags were everywhere. Food items sitting at room temperature, improper food handling, cross contamination and unsanitary practices. Do not make the same mistakes I did. The price is not worth food poisoning. Plus there are waaaaay better rotis and doubles places waiting for your business that make food fresh, tasty and in a sanitary environment.
I have only ordered the Doubles and cant speak about any other item on the menu but the doubles here are my absolute favorite in all of Toronto. The chana filling is very tasty and the roti is slightly sweet and always fresh. In fact my mouth is watering just writing about them!
Ordered via Uber eats, sooo good! We had the boneless chicken roti, and doubles- both were so tasty! Will definitely order again :)
I ordered roti chicken, it was good and worth the money. Their service seems quick, I called 15 minutes before for pick up, when I reached the place my order is waiting for me???
Very medicore food at best. Worst bone-less goat I've had at any Caribbean restaurant in Toronto so far, Aloo-pie and doubles are mediocre and will do in an emergency I guess. Tried multiple times and still very bland. Highlight of the place is the very nice staff though
The corn soup is the best I've ever had. The service is Indo trinidadian authentic. If you are into roti, this is one of the best in the city. Absolutely, no issue and great taste!!!!!
This place is awesome ...the food is good and they keep the authentic tastes of great Caribbean food.My favorite foods there are the doubles, the alloo pie, and the roti with boneless curry chicken. I also like the jerk chicken I don't love it because I've had it three times now and the third time was my least favorite as it didn't taste the same as the first two times.I definitely will continue going here because the service is very fast and efficient and the servers are friendly and the food taste real good!
