A must try place if you enjoy Thai food. I first tried Pai out during the pandemic and ordered pickup, however dining in is an experience with the unique interior. The food is solid, there was no quality difference whether it was take out or dine in. Obviously dining in was better as you get to enjoy the food immediately. The cocktails were great and my partner loved the Raptors inspired ones. Will definitely come again for special occasions or just to grab a bit.
They seated us without a reservation, which I’d recommend. The space feels open with the high ceilings. Their upstairs was also open. The food was delicious and flavourful. My dinner companion asked for Thai spicy and it was for me, although she added more.My noodle dish was perfect, creamy and filling. The Chai teas were also authentic tasting.I was happy to see that the food quality hadn’t dropped at this newer location. I’ll go back to check out their entertainment and the tasty food
PAI was very good. I love all the decors and atmosphere. Their service was good and I could notice how all the staffs had a very welcoming and friendly vibes. When I went there, a musician was performing music live all night long. Along with all the happy chatters around, PAI's audible experience was superb. When it comes to food, I ordered one of its curries and a spicy pork dish. Both of them were very delicious. I particularly love their curry. While the price is definitely a bit pricey compared to other Thai restaurants, I believe it is worth it to visit PAI as they offer amazing dining experience that satisfy almost all the sensual levels in terms of sight, hearing, smell and taste (maybe they offer some touch as well). I would definitely come back to dine here. It was definitely an enjoyable dinner.
We really wanted to like this place given the reputation and price, but our dinner was a solid 2 star experience. It was crowded (def not covid-safe) and there were random napkins floating around. There was live music on the Thursday night, unfortunately the atmosphere was too loud to hear it. The service was nonexistent. We didn't get a dedicated server and whoever took our order didn't remember who got which dish at our table. It was very difficult to flag down any of the few servers when they appeared. My partner and I were facing the same direction at the table and he was sitting to my left. One server arrived on his side of the table with my Khao soi, and reached in front of him to put my plate down. At the same time, another server had started resting on my side a large tom yum soup which my partner ordered. We struggled to clear the small table space as the server reached in front of me to settle the steaming pot, which came with a small flame at the bottom, onto my partner's side of the table. The food was filling but not worth waiting in line for. The tom yum soup was mostly salty/seasoned with fish sauce; it was lacking acidity and seafood flavour (more shrimps or adding a variety of seafood would have helped). To be fair, I've never eaten Khao soi before. I found it to be way too heavy so I could only finish half, and took the second half home to use as dip because it's too creamy as a soup. The egg noodles were fresh and chewy though. The curry that our friend ordered was standard. The shrimp chip appetizer was the best thing we ordered, it paired well with the tamarind sauce. Overall, it felt the prices were 30% higher than other Thai restaurants in the area serving the same quality.
One of best thai restaurants in town. Try their northern platter!
I got the Oxtail and a Iceman Cocktail. Both are delicious. The Oxtail falls off the bone and is so tender. The curried broth it is in is delicious. Everything about the food was fantastic. The service was phenomenal. All the staff was so kind and attentive. They truly go above and beyond, and made the evening special.
Beautiful restaurant, really transport you through the atmosphere. Food is delicious too. Reasonably priced. Staff is friendly. Would come back. Only turn off is the parking. Hard to find street parking as it is very busy area.
One of the favorite restaurants in the city, prefer this location!Great location, ambiance is much more opening, more lighting, quieter and welcoming. Lots of great decorations around and felt authentic vibesFood is superb as always. Everything tasted great, fresh and well cooked. Got the laab salad which never tried before. It was less of a "salad" but tasted delicious. Their OG pad thai was on point, great flavors with the tamarind. Massaman curry had a great balance in flavors with texturesWould recommend and come back again
Before you come here, make sure to come early or set a reservation! Last time I came, the waiting list was an hour and a half long. With that aside, PAI Uptown is a fantastic thai restaurant. The food tastes very authentic with not an overwhelming feeling of greasiness after you finish your meal. I like how for a few meals, you get the option to choose your spiciness (I recommend level 4). I had the coconut green curry and it was fantastic. The visuals were stunning (served in an actual coconut) and tasted great too. The portion wasn’t enough to make me full, but I think that’s just what you get with the coconut curry because the other menu items looked a lot more filling (the pad thai and stuff). The dessert was also probably one of the best coconut ice creams I’ve ever had in Toronto!!Service was okay. It takes a pretty long time for food to be made (35 minutes for main meals, 35+ for the dessert even though we came when it wasn’t very busy) AND we got our order wrong at first. But, our server was very nice about it and we got the spring rolls on the house. In conclusion: great place to visit with friends or family. The place looks spectacular and the food is fantastic. Wait time is a bit long, but the food makes up for it.
Amazing Thai food, just as I remember it when I was in Thai land. Great place to chill with friends after work and the hospitality team from host, waiter and runners amazing work. Would definitely recommend it to friends and family.
