Food was great. Atmosphere was good. However, I threw a party here for 15 people for a 30th birthday party and most of my guests had countless issues. Having one server didn't help. Spent over $1200 and couldn't even get into the club on the same floor after! Asked our party to wait outside in line after we were already inside spending money. Some of the guest didn't get their food or drinks. And the two hour dining limit was way to short for a party size that big. Had us paying the bill and off the tables before people were done. No managers came out once to check on the party. I don't recommend big parties here.
This place was extremely disappointing. The service was extremely poor, inconsistent with their information regarding the reservation for our party. The server was not able to keep up with individual orders leading to people eating others food and even drink. Not sure of the name of our server because she did not introduce herself but she had an attitude and was not friendly what so ever. I politely asked her if my 2 other orders were on the way. To which she replied “ not everything will come out at the same time”. Yes of course, I understand that however I just simply wanted to make sure it was punched in. Only to find out when asking about my order again that she doesn’t know what happened to it and that she can’t do anything about it other than order it to go or have me go and sit down at another table in the lower level. This event was for my friends 30th birthday party, we were only allowed to be there for 2 hours and for a $1200 bill this server/ restaurant was absolutely terrible. I will never return or recommend this to a friend. Also not fun leaving a restaurant at 10 pm with an empty stomach knowing you won’t be able to get in anywhere else nearby on King st W.
Great food! Great staff
Way too loud, low selection of drinks, host at door was rude and not helpful.
Rose in the kitchen, and my server, didn’t catch her name but she had short slicked back hair were so wonderful
If you’re looking for a decent patio with a good vibe Baro was nice. There are so many terrific places in the city that I’m not sure if I would visit again. The staff was lovely but the food was only OK.
What...a...f'in joke. Picked this place to take our son and his gf for their bday. We ordered the tuna, duck fried rice, pork tacos and the 32oz steak that cost $80. I ate here before, lat year, and the quality of the food was awesome, hence why i chose this place. We ordered four entrees, tacos amd tuna came first, the duck fried rice came third. Which took about 20 mins - horrible horrible dish, hardly any duck. The steak came about over 40 minutes later and the bone prob weighed 16oz...it is covid time, the place is half as busy as pre-covid, AND on a Tuesday night - we were extremely extemely dissapponted with the food, the service. And that popsicle dessert? Omg....i don't even want to mention it. Will never ever return.
Great rooftop patio, attentive staff! Good menu with lots of tasty options. A great latin joint! Always lively and busy.
I enjoyed the mix of latin music as well as a handful of other genres. The place looks really nice. Much different from before they did renovations. I’m definitely going back there again. I recommend this place if you want to dance. There’s a large space on the third floor for socializing and dancing, to chill, you can hang out on the 2nd floor where there are tables and chairs and it’s more of an engaging environment, and there’s a hidden Escobar party in the back that if you get the password you can go in.
Saturday night (March 7th) my husband and I, along with another couple decided to stop by Baro for drinks. It was early and we had already had dinner, so we decided to pay the entrance fee to have drinks in the club/bar area on the third floor (even though it was pretty early around 10pm). When we arrived, the place was pretty empty and all tables were available. We took a table by the DJ area and since it was early we decided to have a few beers before deciding if we wanted to stay longer. Things were going great, good music and a good crowd that night. Until, one the waiters came to our table and asked us to leave because the table was reserved for a bottle service which was already paid for. We were in shocked! At no point during the night had the waiter or any of the other staff members told us that the table was reserved or that we needed to buy a bottle service to stay at the table. No reserved signs were at the table either. We thought that maybe that was the case and asked if we could then just order a bottle so we could stay at the table because we were having a good time. However, the answer was no and they proceeded to throw us out. What type of circus is this place and who is managing it is the question here. This is not the way to treat customers and surely, not the way to promote a business. Everyone makes mistakes, and if this was a mistake, then the staff should’ve owned up to it and found another way to resolve the issue instead of just throwing out the people who had been consuming beer and having a good time from early on in the evening. Disrespectful treatment from the staff, (except for the security guy who was apologetic and sincere). We left because at this point it was embarrassing being escorted and thrown out of club for no reason. However, knowing that we were being mistreated, I decided to speak to the manager of the restaurant on the 1st floor on our way out. After explaining to her our discontent with the way we were treated (she washed her hands from the event because she’s only manager for the restaurant and not the club area and said she didn’t know why we were mistreated). I was able to get a refund for our entrance (we each paid $15 to get mistreated and embarrassed in public). If you decided to visit this place, make sure you ask ahead of time if the table is reserved and if you’re guaranteed to have the table for the duration of the night. Avoid getting embarrassed in public for no reason.
