Great noodles, great atmosphere and service. Can’t ask for anything more. Momofuko did not disappoint.
Decided to YOLO and go for their pricey ramen; is the hype real or disappointment around the corner waiting for me?Located adjacent to the Shangri-la Hotel, opens at 1200, large crowd gathering at front entrance waiting to get in, reservations highly recommended.Sat at the counter instead of communal like tables so I could see the cooks/food preparation. There are 2 floor levels of seating available.Atmosphere quite noisy, but if you're spending that much money on a bowl of noodles, I'll be as noisy as I want.Ordered the chicken ramen, pork ramen, and red dragon rice cakesRice cakes nice and crispy exterior, sauce flavorful and spicyMeats nicely grilled, chicken had a strong smoky flavor.IMAO the weak point was the noodle broth base. Broth had a weak watery unami mushroomy essence, bland. Although everyone has their own opinion on what is considered flavorful or not, this is only my personal opinion as my palate is probably destroyed eating too much fast food.Priceless for the experience and memories created but I've had better flavorful noodles elsewhere. I've finally been to Momofuku, cross that off my bucket list, yeah!!!
Great food! Great ambience.
A must visit place for Noodle lovers. We visited this restaurant for lunch. Ordered scallion noodles with Katsu, and sesame noodles with shrimp bun. The food is tasty and the quality is top-notch. Standing ovation for the shrimp bun and Katsu chicken preparation. It was so damn good that we ended up ordering it multiple times. One extra star for the food presentation ?.Negative points for the upstairs floor ambiance, which is way different than the ground floor arrangement. Desserts are limited and of average quality !!Going to visit again for ramen noodles ?
We've been meaning to go for years and finally made it happen. What a great experience! The food was excellent. From the steam buns (omg - thePork Belly Bun!) to the ramen to the mazemen and everything in between - absolutely delicious!! You also have to try the Red Dragon Rice Cakes from the Etc. menu - like a beautiful gnocchi with a crisp outside, and the bibim sauce - damn. Service was excellent - Peter was awesome and very helpful. I highly recommend reservations.
I been here many many times and I love it…. But I found a little bit disappointed this time.My last visit was before Covid…. the extremely spicy sauce was so yummy, I always order it on the side and add it into my Raman broth. This time I found the extremely spicy sauce is not spicy anymore….. and the cabbage taste not as fresh as before.
Service was nice and friendly and the hostess made the effort to seat us even though we didn't have reservation. The ambiance and set up of the location is nice, so with that respect I give it 4-1/2 ⭐️ out of 5.As for the food, the quality was of noodles in the ramen was quite nice, good texture. Broth was a bit heavy, over powering in some respect. The steamed buns were fresh and soft, the pork belly was the only one that stood out for me. Portion wise could've been bigger for that price. And as nice as the soft serve ice cream was, it was served very sloppy, all melted messy. But the chocolate was rich and creamy while the yuzu soft serve was refreshing but again so sloppy and and presentation was disappointing, inconsistent in portion size. At $7 an ice cream, it shouldn't look like it's coming out of a run down McD ice cream machine.
What a food! What a vibe! What a service! And my best joy was to seat upstairs and watch the kitchen. The buns are two bite size but the balance of the tastes and the softness of a bun itself worth it! The pork soup is thick and rich in flavors, the spicy chicken noodles are not so spicy so give it a try. The only one I was maybe skipping is the chocolate ice-cream. Just nothing special about it.
Pork ramen was good. This place consider like a bar not a restaurant. Not many variety of foods. No finger bites for sharing. Momofuku should add more appetizer or finger bites sharing foods if want to be like a bar concept.
Delicious food, friendly staff, clean and good atmosphere. Small menu, which technically helps focus on consistent quality food. Decently priced for what you're there for. Lot of focus on craft brews which was nice! Support local! Will return again for sure.
