Clean, cozy and busy K BBQ restaurant on Bloor. Great customer service. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The portable sitting bench was small for two people. Meats were fresh and tasted really good but their side dishes were not very appealing. Many other Korean BBQ restaurants offer great selection of side dishes and free refill with cheesy corns and eggs. They served us a small spicy tofu stew and we also ordered a leek pancake. Both served hot and fast and they tasted delicious.
Recommend the rib eye, we got a seasonal black pig pork jerky, and short ribs. Very tasty! Staff are friendly and helping one another out when they see a table needs assistance. Very busy on a Friday night.
I'll give it a 4.7 out of 5.Beef quality are above average, and better than many other Korean BBQ restaurants. Service is excellent, wait time about 20min. Reasonable price.
We went to celebrate my birthday on a Wednesday. They said the wait is 30-45 minutes but we were able to get a spot in 20 minutes. Taking away a star because the food was was really good, the service was good but not great. We understand that the place is busy but we had to repeatedly ask for the servers to help with the grill - cleaning/replacing etc. long story short, goo spot for Korean BBQ wouldn’t mind going back.
I had an amazing time here. I used to come monthly when it was still Jang Won. To see that it became Mapo was a bit shocking. The interior design was very different. The server and menu was definitely different. They don't do AYCE now and a younger crowd and vibe. Our server was a very good looking Oopa (which my husband caught me taking a few double looks lol). Their service was lovely. The restaurant was clean. Their menu was via QR code. There was no bell for service at my table. They dimmed the lights and sang for a table for his birthday. They also provided him sparkles and songs on request for the birthday boy. They didn't have Milkis but they did have in-house soju I'd like to try next time. The kimchi was ok, could be spicier for myself. The spicy stew was also not very spicy. The cheese corn was not bottomless. The ventilation could be slightly better. Overall I'd definitely return again.
The food was amazing and so was the experience. Cooking the food at your table makes your meal very fun and engaging. Highly recommend this spot. Top tasting meat: Bulgogi
Friends of mine went here and it is very recommended. The place is clean, the service is amazing. The waiters were polite. The washroom is kept well. It’s a cozy area and with the portion of the food, we found the combo A for 2-3 people were very filling. Try it if you’re into making your food.
Environment is clean, but the sitting bench is small for two people...Meat tastes good. However, side dish is not attractive; they are union, Kimchi, pasta, and radish. The cheese corn is not tasty as I think there is not enough cheese, and corn is dry.. u also need to pay 4 dollars for refill. Egg...taste like water....With their price range, u can have a better choice.
First time doing Korean BBQ with the grill on the table. They were very helpful, making our experience relatively painless and stress-free. Service was initially quite good, however it deteriorated noticeably over the course of our meal, which is why I took a star away. The food was great, meats were excellent and the sides were delicious. Bibimbap was pretty average though tided the meal together with some starch.
The meat quality was the best ive seen so far. The staffs were attentive and responsive. Thank you for the quality food and service, hope to see you soon. Thank you
