Used to be a good place until it got more popular.. chicken dinner went from $12 to $18.. everything is put in one take out box, your salad will be warm.. salad dressing is just olive oil.. food just sits there in a warm tray until its bought.. so if they don’t have a busy day you could be buying chicken at 7pm that was cooked at 12pm.. disappointed but not surprised. Will stick to esquire for now where everything is cooked fresh when you order.
I’m confused about how high the rating is. Chicken was dry. Rice was mushy. Potatoes were bland. The salad was fine if you don’t mind just getting pure olive oil as a dressing. Everything is precooked and just sitting on warming trays. The place is fine if you need a meal, but nothing special. Just food court quality.
A bit of context, I came in close to 6:30pm so almost closing time and understanding this has a hot table and not a grill to prep food, I asked for a half and half of chicken and stewed veal dinner, agreeing to pay the high $19 price.I should have expected that the veal would be dry and it was, inedible dry that it was like sawdust so I picked it all out and tossed it. The chicken was ok as was everything else. I would expect a restaurant to taste test food to ensure a level of quality of what is being served as it was obvious that the veal had been sitting too long. Everything else was ok but personally I would expect better.Lesson learned, likely the food would taste better earlier in the day so if you want to eat here then come earlier. If you have to eat late then avoid stewed veal and keep expectations in check as most of the meal was average.Nice enough owner so maybe I will give it a try again but doubtful.
We decided to try this place and fell in love with it. Has to be some of the best Greek food around and the staff are always really helpful and nice. We would recommend the food to anyone.
You must try their Chicken Souvlaki Dinner!! It's yummy and the chicken is not dry. Their staff is friendly and nice too.?
Hours of operation are too short, phone doesn't get picked up for takeout orders. Otherwise chicken souvlaki dinner is great. Large portion, meat not dry. Salad dressing is only olive oil. Way better than Esquire down the street.
This an Uber Eats Review. Food was good overall and the service was fairly quick. The portions were decent for the price I guess. Will most likely try them again in person at the store and see if that makes any difference in the overall experience.
Great service, personable and fast! Make sure to try all the menu items. Greek cuisine is delicious! Mama's authentic recipes are executed to perfection. Every bite brings me sweet nostalgia and reminds me how great food tastes!
How have I lived in this neighbourhood and never visited this place? It's a small unassuming takeout joint in a strip mall but the food is actually so good and authentic.I got the chicken souvlaki plate for takeout and portions were generous (enough for two meals if you're not a big eater like me). The dinner comes with a pop as well and the owner was so nice and threw in a free pastry.Will definitely be back some weekend for the moussaka!
AMAZING!! The owners are so friendly and sweet. The food is great - big portion sizes, not too salty and very fresh. I got the moussaka (my favourite), souvlaki chicken, spanakopita and baklava which were all super yummy! The store is really clean as well and their Covid measures made me feel really safe. Definitely will return!!!
