Had been meaning to stop by this local french bistro restaurant (with a cool Japanese influence!) For some time. We ended up going for a set menu in Valentine's Day and it was truly such a special experience. The food was fantastic, wine and Soju paired perfectly and the service was truly special. Stayed mate and had some great conversation with the owners. Highly reccomend.
Neighborhood Gem!!!We had a fantastic dinner here. Carolina is a great host and her attitude and professionalism made our dinner even better. Chef Masayuki did an amazing job with the duck confit, the best I had in a long time.Foie gras, confit, mussels were my favourites.Arctic char was a but overcooked. I do like my seafood undercooked.Wine list was on the short side but did have both old world and the new. Would love to see more offerings.A pleasant surprise. Would definitely come back for more.
Clean and bold flavours - a fabulous date night dinner! We started with the french onion soup and Hokkaido scallops, and had the braised short rib and lamb saddle. We were surprised by how much we loved the vegetables. The mushrooms in particular were so intensely flavourful. Great service as well; our server Justine was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Can’t wait to come back and try the other items!
Exceptional service and food. Carolina’s service was one of the best in town. Her detailed and customized service fulfilled our needs. In terms of food, everything was great. Their foie gras, mussels and duck confit were outstanding. The risotto under foie gras balanced out the foie gras’s fattiness. Very well balanced and delicate. The mussels were cooked perfectly, tender meat and creamy sauce - not fishy at all. Duck confit was very well done. Not dry at all, just perfectly tender and fatty. The skin was super crispy which added extra texture.I’d definitely come back for these.
I wish I could give more then five stars for Maison T. This was our fifth time going to this restaurant. The food gets better very time we visit. The staff is absolutely wonderful and the ambiance is just perfect. The chef is absolutely amazing and has put together the most incredible and delicious menu you could ever want. If you want the best restaurant experience in Toronto, go to Maison T.
Carolina and Masayuki gave us a wonderful experience when we went.Masa’s sauces and soups bring his dishes to life. The attention to detail in food and service is everything a customer would wish to have. This place deserves all the love it gets and more. We’ll be back soon!
Incredible food. The duck confeti was particularly amazing. The skin was crispy and the meat was juicy and tender.
The Toronto dining scene is still relatively young, coming into its own through the 80's and 90's, with the likes of Michael Stadtländer, Jamie Kennedy, Susar Lee, Mark McEwan, Didier Leroy, Michael Potters, and JP Challet to name a few. Their cooking was based on the classics...classic in the European sense. Today, very few Chefs execute the classics as they were intended to be, which is why I make note of Masayuki Tamaru. Having trained under some of the aforementioned chefs, Masa (as his friends call him), executes the classics with precision. Try it, you will find happiness in the classics...promise.
Might have just had the meal of the year! We found Maison T randomly and can’t wait to go back. Husband and wife team. And what a team.Perfectly plated French cuisine in a comfortable bistro setting. Carolina took the best care of us throughout.Thank you Chef!
Loved the place, the people and most of all the food just like it should be. Would be going there again and would truly recommend it.
