French Bistros Cocktail Bar

Let's start with the good, the French onion soup was amazing. Wonderful broth and heavy on the Gruyère. The service was truly lacking. The waiter could not tell me what cut of beef was used for the Tartar. Still, I order the Beef tartar, it was okay. The big piece of anchovies and the baby dill pickles should have been chopped up and mixed in. The quail egg yolk was nice for presentation but was too tiny. The cocktails are good but nothing special. The ambiance was loud greatest hits of the ’80s. Still, you could talk over it, plus the seating is tight and easily overhear your neighbour's conversations.

So much to love about this place! From the historic building, interior decor, to the food and service - everything is so on point! Stick to the classic French dishes for the best experience, though it’s hard to go wrong hereIf you have extra time, check out the hidden bar downstairs thru the “secret entrance”!For more great eats around Toronto, check out and follow my feed @instantonium on Instagram

Late post reviewOne of the better French restaurants in the city.Great service and more intimate ambiance in an old mansionEvery dish was amazing but love the foie gras, escargots, truffle tagliatelle and beef short ribOverall 9/10

Perfectly executed French bistro fare. Nice effective and easy going service. Insanely expensive; it reallly adds up; would perhaps be cheaper to fly to Paris. (That said, typical Toronto: casual dining at special occasion prices. You really feel that most of your bill just goes towards paying the rent)

Visited for the second time!Always love their bread (so fresh and with super yummy honey butter) and French onion soup!!!Their mains are pretty good too!

LOVE this place! Everything is perfect! The price is reasonable and the food taste sooo good. I love the decorations and details. Very nice place for a date or just hang out with friends. They offer brunch, lunch and dinner menu. We tried the Sunday tasting menu, which is a four course dinner menu. I really enjoyed everything:)

Very good food, good service. Tables not too crowded. Music not too loud. The music was very upbeat but I was hoping for more of a jazz selection. That in my opinion would have gone better with the European- like ambiance. Lots of artifacts on the historical background of the building. Very interesting.

We had a beautifully done French soup paired with Coq au Vin and Oysters - Well worth the trip ♥️Setting is well balanced with attentive staff and gorgeous details in every corner. For anyone trying to enjoy a more intimate setting - this is easily the best place for a candlelight French dinner in Toronto.

I wish I took a picture, but just wanted to leave a word of caution for tables of 4- the size of the table is so tiny, you could barely fit any food on it. We wanted to share food, and the only way possible was for our plates to be the size similar to a tea cup saucer. The food was good, but the experience was so bizarre with the lack of space that it overshadowed everything. They really should only sit a table for two at best. It's embarrassing for staff to serve their guests.

I have always wanted to try this place and it definitely exceed my expectations. I went here with my friends, which allow us to try different dishes. All of them were great and I really enjoy it! The biggest highlight for me were the seared foie gras, black truffle tagliatelle, and the steak frites. The restaurant also feature a nice décor and ambience, which blend perfectly with the French theme. The service was also exceptional, both the waitress and the maître d' was very attentive, professional, and made sure we enjoy the evening. The price is also reasonable and worth it given the exceptional quality. I am looking forward to coming here again.
