Should have checked the reviews first!!! Very disappointed with my order of fish and chips...small overcooked, dried out halibut and chips tasted as if they had been fried in rancid oil as others have mentioned. Missing coleslaw, which of course, I paid for. Should have checked my order before leaving the store. It says a lot about a business if they do not reply to customers reviews. Their attitude is "take it or leave it..we don't give a #$%#"!!!!

I want to give this place a higher rating because the folks working here seem really nice BUT, the food was average at best.I had the halibut with chips and shrimp. While there is nothing "wrong" with the food, it is nothing special. I think the batter of the fish and the shrimp lack seasoning. I really did not even taste any salt in there. Very bland to say the least. The chips could also use some work. Not crispy at all, just "okay". The portion size is good however but the halibut was also a bit dry. Overall 3/5 but definitely not the best in the city.

Based on reviews and price (I never have an issue paying for quality) I expected more, but I was underwhelmed: Fish (Specialty Halibut + Chips) was decent but small in size, chips were soggy and overall mediocre, homemade tartar was not better than the packaged stuff, and when packaged to go, server pressed/crushed fish and chips into container, leaving me with a mushed mess when I got home. I have found better elsewhere.

Duckworth's was my go to for lunch when I worked in the area over 20 years ago. Since then I have tried many different types of fish and chip places and none of them compares to Duckworths. The generous portion is still the same and so is the taste. Today I came from Ajax just to satisfy my craving and it's just as good. I always have the halibut and chips. The fish is never greasy its crisp and juicy inside. Just talking about makes me want to take another trip out!

It is said to be a 90-year-old place, so I respect it. but I can't say that I like it very much.hygiene 5price 2taste 2ambiance 5service quality 3

The fish and chips were good. Not sure I would order their calamari again (~$14 with tax). They missed our coleslaw again (2nd time now). Might want to double check your order on pick up.

Good food, friendly and clean atmosphere any time I've been in. It's a small family run business that offers great English style fish and chips. I've both eaten in as well as gotten take out and have never been disappointed. Competitive prices as well.

A bit pricey, but it's the best Fish & Chips I've ever tasted, I'm a 41yr old & I've been going there for the past 30yrs & I will continue to go there until the doors close or I'm no longer here, but then my kids will be going there because they love the food as much as I do..

Came by to get lunch take-out because of the great reviews online. They sure surpassed my expectations. They absolutely now one of my new favourite fish and chip place![ Haddock ] - The batter is light and crispy which complements the haddock extremely well because you get a nice crunch biting into it and it doesn't overpower the taste fish itself.*The light batter helps so much on not feeling greased out by end of meal*[ Chips ] - I really like the chips here. They're cut thick enough and fried where the edges are crispy and centre is fluffy(just the way I like it). More importantly they stay good up until the last fry.Overall it really enjoyed the lunch and would recommend to anybody thats looking to have top knotch fish n chips. Would definitely be coming back!

Was hungry after swimming but didn't want fries so I asked the lovely lady at cash if they had fish on a bun, yes she said on a French Stick. So I ordered it and it was the best fish on a bun I have ever had. Big filet, perfectly done on a fresh French bread. Will be stopping in here again for sure.
