A group of my friends are regulars here and I was finally able to come out with them a few days ago. When I say this is one of the best restaurants I’ve experienced I mean it! The food is fantastic, but what really makes it for me is the kind and welcoming service. I have never felt so at home at a restaurant and that is all thanks to Jason and his awesome staff. I ordered the tofu stone bowl, and I would definitely recommend it to all fellow vegetarians or otherwise :) will definitely go back!
Truly the best dining experience that I've had at a restaurant, hands down. Jason, the owner, is always very welcoming and attentive to everyone that comes into Korean Village Restaurant.Jason's unrivaled passion for food and family really shines through in the comfortable atmosphere, outstanding dishes, and stellar service. When you enter, you are a guest rather than just a customer, and this is a point that Jason and the rest of the staff emphasize through their care and effort.Eating here always reminds me how important it is to cherish those who are in my life. I cannot recommend this place enough to friends and family, and I always look forward to my next visit!
There are two key qualities of a great restaurant; the food and the customer service. The Korean Village Restaurant embodies the true meaning of an excellent dinning experience. From the moment you step in to the moment you leave the place with a belly filled with the most delicious Korean BBQ, you get a sense of how much the restaurant owner and the servers care about providing an ideal dining experience for the customers. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Korean Village Restaurant and it has certainly become one of my favorite restaurants in the city of Toronto!
Great service, delicious food, and nice people from one of our favourite restaurants in Koreatown! Our family always eats here whenever we visit Toronto and they always make us feel welcomed. Shout out to the amazing staff including Jason who greeted us this weekend! Thank you and highly recommend this restaurant, we’ll always stop by when we can
I've visited this restaurant twice for lunch. Both times that I came, the staff members were friendly and seated me quickly but everything after that took a long time. My friend and I waited over 20 minutes to have our orders taken, which was unexpected because there were many empty tables around. After we placed our orders, we waited several minutes for side dish appetizers and the first meal to arrive. My friend recieved his meal long before I did and by the time that he was nearly done eating, I was just beginning to eat mine. I ordered the jjampong (spicy seafood soup with noodles). The broth tasted good, the portion was large and there was a decent amount of seafood but the noodles tasted very plain. The benefit of dining in here is that you get to enjoy the lovely setting; the restaurant has nice decorations and unique architecture. However, I wouldn't recommend dining in here if you are tight on time. Maybe just order take out in that case.
This place if fantastic! We drive from the suburbs to visit, there is a good variety and the staff is extremely friendly. This is a family run restaurant that has been in the neighborhood for decades. Please support them through the pandemic so they can survive till better days. There are a few pay lots within walking distance for parking. Washrooms are down a flight of stairs. Cash and Card payments accepted, take out available.
Excellent. As soon as I started eating their kimchi I wondered what I had done right in my past life to deserve this, and when I thought it couldn’t get better, Jason showed up and shared his kindness, humour, and generosity with us. The food was delicious (we ordered the beef and spicy chicken stone bowls + dumplings for the table), the environment was comfortable and welcoming, service was impecable, fast, attentive. You can feel the hospitality the moment you walk inside. Highly recommend, definitely one of the best restaurants in Toronto. They also offer some vegetarian options.
Korean Village is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. From hospitality to the amazing food it is the most enjoyable experience. Jay the owner has taught my friends and I many great life lessons and made us appreciate our family’s more. All the staff here are helpful and hard working. The food is always done to perfection and there’s nothing I wouldn’t eat here!
I visited for dinner (dine-in) on a Tuesday night and was seated right away. They currently have capacity limits due to COVID restrictions but they hadn't needed to turn anyone away at the time I was there.I ordered the yukgaejang (spicy beef soup with scallions/veg) and mandu (dumplings). The yukgaejang was perfectly spicy (this is not for the spice-averse) and so comforting on a cold Toronto night. I got the mandu fried and they were standard but still good, pork with a nice hint of ginger. The banchan included kimchi, fish cake, and mung bean sprouts. All were good but I loved the kimchi. Banchan are side dishes and included in every meal, you don't have to pay extra for them. The owner was walking around the floor and attending to customers and ensuring everyone was having a good meal. He informed me that they were short staffed and apologized for the extra time it took to get my food, but in all honesty I didn't think I had to wait that long. I appreciated that he continued to walk around and offer free rice, drinks, etc to customers to make up for the delay. He brought over a side of his special kimchi for me to try, too. Even though they were short staffed, you could tell that everyone was working their hardest during COVID restrictions.I felt so welcomed here and the food was delicious. If you visit, keep in mind that they are working under restrictions and doing their best to serve everyone in a timely manner.
Absolutely amazing food and service. Every dish was so delicious we will have to come back to try more. The best part was when we met Jason who is so passionate about his restaurant. It definitely shows! Highly recommend if you want an amazing experience!
