I always love kinka and have been here several times. It is always my go to spot when I am looking for quality, delicious food for a great price. I also love bringing friends and family here as I find their quality to be very consistent.I always like to get an oshizushi (pressed sushi) all of which are delicious. If you like shrimp, definitely get the shrimp one. Otherwise, the other three are just as good. We got mackeral this time.I don't usually get the karage but I'm so insanely glad that I did this time. It was probably the best karage I have ever had and the portions were absolutely massive. I like that there are also 3 flavors to chose from. I think that is a new feature. The Kinka udon was delicious as alwayy. We also ordered okonomiyaki (savory pancake dish) which was flavorful and soft. They were very busy and the restaurant was full but we didn't have to ask for a water refill once. The service was prompt and polite which are the two most important things for me.I will definitely coming back again as I have been. I just wanted to give this particular visit a shout out because the food was extra spectacular.11/10
Good vibes inside and out on patio.Good service, good food. Some nice sake too.The fries was much higher than I expected.Although I did come in expecting yakatori style skewers Izakaya. This felt more like Japanese tapas to me. Overall, great experience and good location.
I really like the atmosphere and vibes of this location but there a few things that could improve. For one, we found the portions to be a little small for the price. ESPECIALLY the cheesecake, it was a sliver. Barely a slice, so it was a little disappointing. However, the service and the taste of everything really made up for it. The karaage is the best I’ve had at any Izakaya, and their special Cherry Blossom drink was incredible.Definitely recommend!
We went there for our 7:30 reservation. The restaurant was already packed. We were sat at a very small table by the kitchen. Our server brought us waters and disappeared for at least 20 minutes. We had to flag down a different server to order our drinks. Another 20 minutes went by and we could see our drinks waiting on the bar but again no sign of our server. We had to get up and let the bartender know that those were our drinks. He brought them over to us. My wine was warm and my friends beer flat after all that time that passed. Then we finally ordered our dinner. By that time we were starving .....the kitchen was trying their best to put up the food orders as soon as possible but no server was picking anything up. I don't know if we caught them on a busy understaffed day or what but by the time the food started arriving to our table(which was literally 2 ft from the kitchen) it was cold. Every time the server would bring another one of our dishes to our table she was apologizing for the delay and thanking us for our patience, but still......very dissatisfied. Won't be returning.
Overall the taste of foods Are below average, Miso soup and cheese cake are fine, but the main dishes taste bad, the rice of sushi have too much water and bad taste, the salmon is overcook and dry, and the bento isn’t hot enough, and even not warm. it’s disappointing to din here and won’t recommend.
I had a blast here. Good food and a fun experience.[Food] We ordered a bunch of items to share and most of the food turned out really good.[Drinks] I could come here just for the sake bombs. They were a fun experience. I'd recommend it to anyone who comes here.[Service] The staff was extremely friendly, and they made me feel welcome.
Did not like the food at all. Went because of the reviews but was let down by soggy karage and unseasoned pork tonkatsu. For the katsudon, they didn't bother to cook the onion and there was a raw egg mixed in with the katsu making it just taste like unseasoned pork and soggy bread. Overall I would rate the food 0/5 considering the price of the food here and that I had to wash down the food with water. The bus lady was annoying me about not having a QR but also the place was packed and didn't really follow covid protocol so dont know who you're fooling... Would never go here again.
It was my first time trying Kinka Izakaya and we were really happy to support local restaurants who are opening their outdoor dining as I know how hard it can be especially during this time. All the appetizers we had (takoyaki, calamari, karaage, and sushi) was really good and would come back for those again. The main dishes we had were the ramen and udon which was just average and it’s understandable because they specialize in izakaya dishes. The server was friendly and food came out quickly which was nice!
They have a heated outdoor patio which was rly warm and toasty. We ordered the udon and chicken katsu. The udon was so good with a nice broth and chewy noodles and tempura bits. Katsu was great as well. Portions were small but the quality of food is great. I always go to this location for a night out with friends because their food is always so consistent.
Really small choices for Udon (just 3 options) and not Vegetarian Friendly if you are going for noodles.
