Wow. The service here tonight was horrendous. The girl working the reception was extremely rude and us the online order had priority over us. I have been coming here for years and anytime the guy with long hair works, everything goes smoothly and there are no issues. But anytime this girl works, she makes me never want to come back and this is what I’ve been hearing from many others. Food is great but her working there is enough for myself and my friends to never come back.
This is my absolute favourite place for jerk chicken and #1 in my opinion in the GTA. I always make it a point to come here whenever I'm in the area.The jerk chicken is seasoned perfectly, tastes delicious, and the portions are very generous. The chicken they use is also nicely sized and not overly large like other restaurants. The jerk chicken dinner comes with rice and peas, along with cole slaw, which is nice and creamy. The mild gravy is nice, but I definitely recommend getting the spicy gravy if you can handle heat!
their jerk chicken roti is amazing. so flavourful and amazing portions, and fantastic price. multiple meals in one. excellent for your neighbour, wife, ex wife, husband, ex husband, grandma and pa, all three of your children, and everyone you know.
There is no better jerk around, period.My girl has never tried jerk before and said multiple times it's the BEST chicken she has ever tried. The prices are on point too! 10 outta 10 would recommend to a friend.
Food was ok but had an issue with each item. The side of plantain I ordered was cut in a weird way. Rather than it being sliced length wise or across the width in thin or medium slices, it was like a whole plantain cut into 4 pieces along the bias. It was difficult to eat because it was so thick, so I ate one piece and decided I could slice the rest up and re-fry it. The sandwich was tasty and messy (a good thing) but the coco bread was dry. The patty was ok, but I probably wouldn't buy it again. I wasn't keen on the pastry or the seasoning of the meat. Overall, I would probably do the sandwich if I was in the mood and I'd definitely choose it over Scotty Bon's down the street.
Got the jerk chicken wrap. Huge portion for $15.60 including tax. It lasted 2 meals for me. Huge portions of meat inside, a potato, and extra veggie filling. The gravy was flavourful and had a slight kick. Staff was friendly. I will definitely be returning.
Prices used to be really good but due to inflation it has gone up quite a bit. The portions are big and the jerk chicken is really good. I always get it with ox tail gravy and extra on the side.
I bought the ox tail with peas and rice. The peas and rice was consistent with taste. However, I had trouble finding the oxtail. It seems like there were some confusion with the order since there were peas and rice with one (1) piece of oxtail.I'm certain I selected oxtail and not shrimp tail.That's total robbery, misleading and horrible customer service on Jerk King's part. If Jerk King is selling shrimp tails disguised as oxtail, please say so.Don't be deceitful by serving one piece of oxtail in an entire container and have customers looking for another container or checking their receipt twice to review their order.If the ox is bobtailed then please advise customers. It's very simple.We are serving rice and peas with one piece of oxtail. Be specific.So for those who would like to patronize this establishment, please don't be a jerk like me and order the oxtail because not heeding to this advice you will be the jerk king.
I’ve had food from here a few times and I’ve never been disappointed! Great portions and super tasty! Had jerk chicken and rice, curry goat, dumplings, plantains. Always so good! Looking forward to trying other tasty bites here!
