Thank you so much for making our son’s 13th birthday experience so special. By all accounts, the food was incredible and the staff made a big deal out of his special day. He was smiling ear to ear when he got home.
I started visiting Jacobs for me and my wifes 2nd wedding anniversary in 2014. Returned each anniversary until we had our kid in 2018, also brought my mother for a visit which she enjoyed (shes hard to please) and my inlaws who never been somewhere as nice.. all visits were amazing and well worth. The popovers were amazing and the table side caesar is always worth getting. You can order a half side since the sides can be a bit large which is nice.. Duck fat french fries are also a worth try. I have recommended this restaurants to many friends and glad they managed to weather Covid lockdowns!
Had a wonderful experience here! Our waiter went through the menu thoroughly with us. He was super friendly and had a great humour! The service overall was “attentive”. I got the Jacob’s Creek Wagyu and it had a thin, crisp skin - beautifully cooked and seasoned. Their bread is AMAZING. The food came within a reasonable amount of time.It was very clean, modern, and perfectly lit inside.
By far the best cut of steak you will ever have! The wagyu selections can look intimidatingly pricey but they are truly, pun intended, a cut above the rest. If you're celebrating any kind of special occasion, Jacob's will will make it a meal to remember. The steak portion in my photo was a 7oz serving, which was *more* than enough given all the sides and appetizers we also shared.
Good: The staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and meat options available, including details about the particular farms where the beef is farmed. The staff was also very helpful, friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. The quality of meat is very good.Average: Portions are too big. Although the quality of meat was very good, the taste was so-so at best. Yes, the steak was cooked properly... but it lacked inspiration. So boring, taste and inspiration.Poor: Quality of vegetables could be improved. The different types of salt are more of a novelty and below average quality. Menu lacked variety. Staff seemed nervous and undertrained or inexperienced. Espresso at the end was nothing short of bad. Atmosphere felt cheap and was very, VERY loud. They're trying hard, and they have very high quality meat... but overall, not impressed. Did not meet expectations. Would not reccomend.
Hands down, in my opinion, Jacobs & Co is the best steakhouse I ever had in Toronto! The ingredients used is of a high-quality; and they were able to transform it into an amazing culinary experience. I never had a Japanese A5 Wagyu beef before and decided to treat myself here, and it is worth it! The meat is very well marbled, “melt-in-your-mouth”, and offers exquisite texture. This is something worthy of ordering for special occasion. In addition, all the sides we ordered complement well with the steak; and not to mention the perfect wine pairing that bodes well with everything. To top it off, our server was very attentive and amazing to ensure our dining experience run seamlessly.Overall, Jacobs & Co exceeded my expectation and I highly recommend this if you are looking for a fine dining steakhouse. We would be coming back in the near future for sure!
Overpriced for the quality of food. The interior is like a panelled up warehouse with music so loud you can’t converse with your partner. Had to climb 3 flights of stairs just to be seated and with the wife in heals it made for a slip and fall waiting to happen. Staff asked if we were celebrating an occasion and it was the wife’s birthday. They did not offer a complimentary overpriced dessert on a $600 bill for two. Other steakhouses in Toronto are so better and acknowledge a special occasion. Would not recommend Jacobs.
Excellent. Honestly, it was really good. The T-Bone steak which was super tender was great with their salts as well. All of the staff were very kind and professional and good service .. I recommends jacob & co. Steakhouse?
I recently went to this restaurant and I had mix feelings about the experience. The service is amazing and there is nothing to complain about it. The food is another story. I ordered a strip loin from Australia and I also tried a 60 day aged ribeye. Both stakes were ok, but they were nothing special for the price we paid. I understand stakes need to be aggressively seasoned, but they were way too salty. We ordered several side dishes for the table and some of them were amazing while others were not good. The fries were way too salty and they had what I call a weird seasoning. It was not truffle, it was more like star anise that I don’t like. I also tried Shrimp as entree and although they are big that may justify the price, they were overcooked to my taste. Dauphinoise (scallop potatoes) is a different story. The dish is amazing. Potatoes were cooked perfectly and the combination of cheeses and cream was glorious. I tasted few other things and this is my recommendation: Baked Oyster, Dauphinoise and the 60-day aged rib-eye. It is a good place to see pretty people, but I would rather spend money in other restaurants were food is better.
Honestly, it was really really good. Got the Guelph T-Bone steak which was super tender and was great with their salts as well. If you're self-conscious about gnawing on the bone at a fancy restaurant definitely pack it up and go nuts at home coz you don't want to waste any of it. The most surprising thing was the Cesar Salad, they make it at the table for you and it was genuinely the best salad I've ever had. One order comes with two servings and was worth every penny which I never thought I would say when going to a steakhouse. Can't deny that it's pricey so for most people this would really only be a place to go for a special occasion. You can probably expect to spend around $100/person for a decent meal, but you can easily double or triple that depending on what you order. One thing that is pretty great is that their sides are huge and can easily serve two so the $21 isn't as bad as it seems on paper, but they also do half portions if you prefer.
