Saw The Mercenaries there a couple weeks ago. It was, without a doubt, the friendliest bar in Toronto that I've ever been in. The music was great, the beer was great, but the atmosphere was beyond great. Super multi-cultural, incredibly friendly; definitely my favourite T.O. bar. I can't wait to go back. I hear the open mike nights are amazing.
Great time! Went there twice within a week for two different friends shows, the atmosphere was very homey.
The bartender Rachel was amazing, best pizza, unreal drink deals and amazing patio. A must go in Whistler
Been there for sone Wednesday karaoke and its the Best karaoke Ive done Toronto (and I've done alot)! Although I think my sweater got stolen there ?
It’s an amazing chill bar at Kensington. As people have mentioned below the lady bar tender is super racist. She ignored serving us for a long while. When I tried to wave to get her attention she got wild and told how everyone wants her attention and she doesn’t want to give any blah blah. I for obvious reasons didn’t tip her for that round of drinks. She ask me and my friends to f**** and that she isn’t going to serve us again. Never visiting again! Rude and racist people.
Servers are nice. Music is random modern pop DJ mix despite the fact that tonight is “Disco Night”. When asked to play actual disco DJ brushed off request and continued to play random pop mix
Always had a good time but won't be returning after last night. Girl server repeatedly ignored us, I brushed it off thinking she's probably too busy at first, but as the night went on, I felt like she was trying to make a point. So I joked to my friend to try and get her attention because for some reason she didn't like me. Then this server threw a massive tantrum and told my friend not to wave in her face...Pretty disgusting behavior, won't be returning. I read the review below and the poster claimed this person was racist to them, I wouldn't be surprised.
My First worst experience was in the Kensington neighbourhood last night. The bar was super cool and supported the excellent local artist. The female bartender was so racist ?I've been waiting for 10 mins to get served. Saw me and turned around to see the next person. I was patiently waiting for her serve me. She told me they were only accepting cash. The person Next to me settled in the card. I went and asked her why me ? And she lied saying they weren’t accepting cards only cash while others paid with their credit card. Very rude !People are so cool ? in the bar more welcoming , social-able.“As long as people can be judged by the color of their skin, the problem is not solved. Stop ? racism in the bar industry.
Went for the open mic night.. The talent was out of this world! The beer selection was too notch , service great and the location right behind down town China town
It is a nice place to hang out with a bunch of people but it wasn't very happening. Light music and din lights were all we had there. They do host live music sometimes, which is paid or else it's entry free.
