Unfortunately they don't use the stoves to keep the cheese dakgalbi warm, but had chicken, rice cakes, and some added ramen noodles on top. Filling meal but left a bit to be desired.Bulgogi was better, the meat was tender, umami and slightly sweet. The side dishes that came along were also pretty good!

I had the chicken cheese dakgalbi. It was good value for the amount of food. However, I found that it wasn't spicy enough for me but of course that's just personal preference. I wish that the chicken was a bit more fresh and there were more rice cakes. It was a pleasant experience but I don't think I'll be visiting again because the food wasn't anything phenomenal.

The cheesy dakgalbi was spicy and delicious. Generous portion too!

Located in the center of Korean Town, Hancook Cheese Dakgalbi offers traditional and contemporary Korean dishes. I had the pleasure of visiting this restaurant while I was in Toronto a while ago, and let me tell you this, their dakgalbi is honestly the best I've tasted since coming to Canada! It was so delicious~ The portion's were amazing and overall the dish was quite filling and definitely value for your money. In terms of spice level, since I'm quite good with spicy food I found the dish to not be very spicy, but if you are less tolerant to spice I recommend asking for the dish to be less spicy. Moreover, we opted to add ramen and fried rice (with the leftover dakgalbi sauce) and these add-ons took the dish to a whole other level. Therefore, I do recommend leaving some dakgalbi for the end so you can opt to mix in some rice to make some fried rice as well~In all honesty this meal was a gastronomical experience that left me full but still wanting more. The chef really outdid themselves. I really want to go back there once more to experience the food again, but till then I hope you guys have the opportunity to try it out!To hear about this review, follow us @eatinontario on Instagram and Facebook.

This is my favourite place in Toronto for spicy rice cakes. They give big portions and the rice cakes come with ramen noodles, chicken, vegetables and optionally cheese. The food is delicious, and the rice cakes are soft and chewy as they should be. Also, the service here is always very good. When the dish is done cooking, the waiter places it on a hot stove on your table and stirs the food for you before leaving you to eat. From time to time, the waiter comes over to adjust the temperature of the stove to make sure that the rice cakes don't become cold or overcook. Great restaurant.

The cheese dakgalbi was just one of the best dishes I’ve ever had - I ate so much that I could barely walk after and I have absolutely 0 regrets. The little banchan dish on the side was a lovely touch - the pickled radish was delicious. We also got some dumplings and they were probably the most well cooked that I’ve ever had from a Korean restaurant. The server was really lovely & very attentive. Please open a restaurant in Montréal so I can achieve my life goal of never eating anything else but Hancook. Until then I’ll be back whenever I’m in Toronto. ?

Ordered this for on Uber for take-out twice, and both amazing experiences! We ordered the cheese dakgalbi, and it came warm. We threw it onto the stove to heat it up some more, and served with rice. Delicious!Only thing I wanted to say was that we waited for a while for the food. We noticed it was quite busy when we stopped for pick-up, so expect your orders to take longer than expected!

Awesome place! Been coming here for years. It's homey and the service is pretty good. Recommend to get the cheesy dakgalbi! It's so good, and at the end you can ask them to put rice or ramen noodles to be mixed with the remaining sauce or leftover! Thinking about it makes me wanna come back again ?

The cheese dakgalbi tasted really, really good!

Delicious, fresh Korean food that hits the spot (when you’re craving a Korean meal). I thoroughly enjoyed my bibimbap. The gochujang was just the right sweet / spicy blend. My daughter and brother enjoyed their bulgogi and pork galbi. We will be back.
