Somewhat pricey. But what caught my attention is that they don't recycle. Had purchased a juice in a glass bottle and when I asked where to recycle, I was directed to the garbage can. Not cool.
Th coffee beans were very bitter and overall I didn’t like their coffee. The place charged me an extra dollar for the oat milk in my latte. That was upsetting. Service was nice and barista was very friendly.
The scones are phenomenal. It's my partner's favourite coffee and we stop here every time we are in the city!
My first visit to Fair Grounds and loved the cozy, and friendly vibes of this cafe. When I'm back in the area, they will be my favourite spot for an iced latte - so refreshing!Aside from their lattes, they have a huge selection of baked organic treats, a few sandwich options, bottled drinks, and a wide assortment of coffee beans. In my photo, you'll see the creative names of their coffee blends, my favourite- Sweet African ❤️Looking forward to another visit.
Came in to try a local spot, and my best judgement for a cafe is the quality of their black coffee. Came in on a Sunday around 1:00PM and ordered my usual Medium Black, and I found that their coffee was stale, and tasted like cardboard, I’d almost go as far as to say dirty water. No depth or quality that id expect from a good cup of coffee. Maybe it was just an old pot? I’ve had better from my Nespresso.
This is a very toxic work environment. I worked here a few years ago for 3-4 months; since working at other jobs I've realized just how bad it was. I was talked down to by the owner when he would come into the cafe, I was forced to stay and work a 12 hour shift by myself (one week into training) because a girl didn't show up to her shift, and I was actually YELLED at by one of the bakers after I gave my two weeks notice. There was no work-life balance or consideration that people are also studying while working either. The only manager there who was kind to me was Javan.Anyone complaining about the service/baristas should consider that they have a very high turnover and poor training, likely due to the way that employees are treated. While I was there, the afternoon baristas would work completely by themselves; even leaving the counter for 3 minutes to run downstairs to the bathroom would result in a customer complaining that "no one was there to help".I'm posting anonymously for obvious reasons but I wanted to warn anyone considering working here. I can only hope that they have changed the way they manage their business and employees.
We used to enjoy visiting and supporting this establishment but as a few other reviews have pointed out, they are anti-mask and management does not enforce public safety measures during the pandemic. More than once we have encountered aggressive patrons who were not wearing masks (when merely asking for space/distance from them in the small store front). Really disappointing.
Fairgrounds? More like viral breeding grounds. Our family used to love this place, good muffins, decent coffee, and a fun roastery outpost with stuff for the kids to do in Mississauga, but I can’t support a business that doesn’t respect the health and safety of its patrons. It’s become an anti-mask, Big Pharma-conspiracy-supporting hub during COVID. A real bummer. Feels like Long Branch lost one of its best cafés to the pandemic.
Ridiculous cafe1. Small latte costs $4.50, none of the cafes nearby sell more than this price and they also have much better quality.2. This is not a latte, this is a dry foam with watery milk. Espresso tastes burnt and stale.3. Barista is yawning while making latte and keep touching her mask
