Very comfortable and cozy place, with amazing art and pictures all around. The host os very friendly and helpful, and gave us great recommendations for our first time visiting. We got the Kitfo. It was delicious and not too spicy but certainly not mild! If you enjoy spicy food with a lot of heart and flavour, you'll enjoy this place. I'll definitely be going again!
We went in for lunch this Sunday and had an amazing experience. This place is not just home to some truly delicious and nutritious Ethiopian food but also has a nice homely atmosphere. Mohamed was so welcoming and sweet..it felt like we were having a meal at an old friend's place. We ordered the veggie Bayaaynatu. The injera was soft and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and all the veggie dishes were very flavorful, just the right level of spicy. Mohamed even got some extra injera just for my toddler who just loved it.Highly recommend Ethiopian House for a good wholesome meal accompanied by warm friendly service.
The food here is fantastic. HIGHLY recommended. I recommend the vegetarian and meat platter so you get to try a bit of everything. I really loved the collard green. The owner and our server Mohammed is amazingly cool. Service is top notch and honest. Looking forward to coming back here.
Was very lovely on the first floor at the front window table, had the meat and veggie dish to share, with popcorn and coffee to finish. Make sure you order the coffee when you first sit down as it takes 35-40 minutes to prepare. Very nice and friendly service. Will be returning!
What a hidden gem! Quiet and modest spot near Yonge & Wellesley, perfect for casual meetups. The atmosphere is pleasantly peaceful and the food is great. We got the weekend special and the Ethiopian coffee - both were amazing. Really a one-of-a-kind restaurant in the area.
I absolutely love this restaurant. I have been going here for the past 7 years and the food and service remains consistent.Ethiopian food is next level delicious! (You may not like it the first time you try it but if you try it again, you wont regret it!)My order is always the same! Veggie platter with lamp nibs! You cant go wrong with that order!Prepare to eat the food in traditional Ethiopian style, with your hands! This is a great spot to host small dinner parties for birthdays or anniversaries! There is a private space upstairs that is perfect! The decor in this place is incredible to say the least! The artwork is so inspiring and mesmerizing!Book your reservation and go!! Your new favourite spot awaits!
Loved this place before covid. The owner is very respectable and kind. We went again few days ago, Food is still very good but I expect it to be more spicy. Wasn't spicy at all. our friends stuck in subway and came 30 min late. the lady who works there was very impatient and wasn't friendly and helpful at all. And When our friends came she didn't help put tables together. it is Still my favourite Ethiopian restaurant in town. I really like the owner. He's a great person
Amazing food! We've tried Ethiopian in Toronto before but this is probably our favourite. The vegetarian platter is so flavoursome and satisfying, with generous portions. The owner is super kind as well.
A family business, you can customize your order, ask to turn on music. House wine is a real wine (not a juice blended with alcohol). Everything is spicy! Little meat the dish. And for sure the highlight of this place is that you have no cutlery, you use your hands and share the plate. They serve food on a special crepes, which you can use to snap/wrap your pieces and don't get your hands dirty.
Absolutely a must try! I have only had Ethiopian food once before but this place was a reminder that it needs a more frequent place in my life! Highly recommend listening to Mo and getting what he tells you to- you won’t be disappointed! It’s a hand heavy meal, so be ready for a little bit of a mess!
