Got an almond croissant.Good flavors. Very dense croissants though. Not too many layers, but a great crispy outer shell. One croissant can be filling.Would I go again ? Maybe if I was in the area. But probably not worth the effort to go all the way.Huge loaves for sourdough looked enticing though, albeit expensive at approximately 13$ a loaf.

Worth the hype.Got here at 9:30 and famous pistachio croissants were sold out. The rest of the pastries were very good. Mushroom bechamel brioche was the best!Had to wait ~30 to get in. Plan accordingly ?

I think this place is overrated. The croissant is buttery, but I would prefer them heat it up a bit. The mushroom quiche’s flavour is good, but it’s super cold and when we asked for it to heat up, they said they can’t do that because it will fall apart. A bit disappointed. Was really looking forward to it. The Halloumi sandwich is average. I like the sourdough bread but that’s about it. Overall I think this place is not worth for the wait.

Emmer is incredible. They have the best croissants in the city. Everything they sell is fresh and service is usually pretty efficient. I’ve been to their patio twice and have gotten take-out from them in other occassions and the quality is always mesmerizing.Highly recommend their roast beef sandwich and the croque monsieur. Both amazing and better if consumed right away. They have two menus, one is the breakfast menu and it only goes until 11:30am and then they have their lunch menu starting at 11:45am. If you show up in that 15 min window you’ll have limited options for food as they’re transitioning. The best thing to do? Show up early and get the baked goods before they disappear.Prices aren’t necessarily low, but for the quality you’re getting its definitely worth it. The portions are also generous and filling.

Best sausage roll in the city (worth the $10 imo), best croissants closest to France I’ve had in Toronto and the sausage muffin was so delicious as well. Heated patio avail for dine in. I usually line up at 8:45am for the 9am opening and am usually between 1st-5th in line. Pistachio croissant sells out quick.

Best butter croissant in toronto ?The halloumi toast on the breakfast menu is also incredible.LOVE coming here on Sunday mornings - the people who work at Emmer are so positive, friendly, and helpful. An absolute neighbourhood gem.

Emmer is more style than substance unfortunately. Upon first glance, the storefront is very attractive, with a sleek wood-paneled exterior. However, once inside, the customer service makes you feel very unwelcome. The counter workers aren't very friendly, and they seem to wish to be elsewhere. The viennoiseries, despite being very eye-catching, are not made from 100% real butter, which makes them taste heavy and unsavory. The only redeeming factor was the chocolate inside the Pain au Chocolat, which was delicious and perfectly complementary to the rest of pastry. The Halloumi Toast was dry, burnt, and oddly sweet. Also, the bread was heavily soaked in a disagreeable oil, which tasted quite old if I am being honest.Emmer, you have a lot of potential, please just use 100% real butter and invest in better quality for each respective ingredient of your dishes!

Their croissants are the best my wife and I have had, better than the ones we've had in France. Hits all the points: salty, sweet, chewy, flaky, butter notes, denseness. It is definitely on the pricer end but worth it. Would drive downtown just for their croissants. My daughter had a danish and didn't want to share because it was too good. No line up when I went on Thursday AM, they do have a 2 customer indoor policy currently. The staff were very polite, helpful and pleasant.

Absolutely incredible butter croissant and caramelized passionfruit croissant. One of the best I've had in Toronto. Sausage roll was delicious as well for anyone looking for a savoury treat. As some folks have said, prices are a bit high, but they are very fair for this calibre of croissants.

Really amazing baked goods. Pistachio croissant was worth the wait in line. Oatmeal sourdough was a favourite. Prices are for sure on the high end.
