Best fried hot chicken in town. Excellent service and quality! My friend hyped this place up so much and it was definitely worth the hype. We were a huge group and this guy Tyson had excellent customer service.
Stumbled upon Dave's Hot Chicken on Google Maps while scanning places to eat in the Yonge and Eglinton neighbourhood. In short, the restaurant was clean and bright, the staff were quite friendly, but the wait times were long and I've had better fried chicken sandwiches in the city, with the fries really being the best part.I had the 1 tender and 1 slider with fries, in "lite mild", and there was just an ever so subtle hint of spice, almost non-existent (I start at the minimum level of spice because I don't know what different restaurants' benchmarks for spiciness are). For the fried chicken, the batter wasn't super crispy, and the meat wasn't exceptionally juicy, but overall it was decent. Also, the sandwich was a bit tricky to eat because it had three separate smaller pieces of chicken inside, so when I took a bite all the pieces just fell out!
Look look look look at this, somebody come look at this! *Kevin Hart Voice* Wanted to start my first meal of 2022 w/ something different. Have never been the type to come online and complain BUT I am compelled to share my dreary experience here.. I drove 30 mins one way here with friends, were all super excited to try this spot. Walk in there and heavily drake influenced designs on the walls "best I ever had" and "Hotline bling" signage, obviously trying to appeal to the younger generation of Toronto, but no complaints because who doesn't like Drake?! No social distancing happening in here AT ALL, line up is crowded and unregulated in terms of how many people are clogging up this little spot. With the combination of people eating inside and long lines this place is far too small to accommodate both. Two employees in the back, I can clearly see wearing their mask wayyy under their nose the entire time but didn't say anything lol... Gives you an idea of how strict COVID protocols are in a place you are in for only a short time... My two friends ordered 3 seperate combo's.. I ordered one Combo #3, I also added one additional slider for $7.99, and one single tender for $5.99 and a poutine for $6.99. I figured sliders are usually small so let me get another alongside an extra tender, was super hungry. For me alone the bill was $41.76. I wasn't trippin, I was excited to go home and dig in! When I opened my boxes... Firstly, My order was completely incorrect, I was missing my extra Slider that I paid extra for and instead got a tender (which is less $, SEE BILL PHOTO) and I was missing my Kale Slaw side that is supposed to come alongside my combo... Secondly, The presentation of the food in the box is extremely poor.. Like chicken just slopped on a slice of wonder bread..sauce thrown all over.. I didn't even eat the slices of bread as it was just soggy and unappetizing. I stopped eating sliced wonder bread when I was a child, not about to start now. Looking at my plate of 3 chicken tenders and a single slider I paid $42 bucks for... In end, not worth the hype, literal marketing hype, can't believe what people will line up for this take out, all because of the hype. I could have literally sat down at a Moxies or Milestone and had a fresh pasta and a glass of wine with full service for about the same $, not to mention what my 2 friends spent too ..lol and I'm not hating on fried chicken, I actually love Jollibee's. Verdict for me, is Dave's Hot Chicken = Hot Trash, sadly. Would not recommend..
I’m impressed. Not necessarily by the presentation of what I ordered, but by how well cooked the chicken was. Every chicken restaurant will brag about how good their product is but fail to deliver an experience that matches marketing. Dave’s Hot Chicken is quite the opposite. It’s a simple menu with simple items but superb flavour and delivery.The atmosphere is hilarious and cute, a great environment for diners. The food is fantastic - fries are delicious and the chicken juicy, tender, and well seasoned. My only observation to improve in the future would be to toast the slices of bread that come with the order. Asides from it, loved my experience at Dave’s Hot Chicken
I was beyond excited to try this place out and oh boy it didn't disappoint one bit!!! The chicken was so juicy and seasoned to perfection not to mention the crunch. The dipping sauce they give you is amazing, cuts the heat with a creamy/tang also perfect for dipping those crispy crinkle fries❤ plus a few pickles on the side never hurt? This is with out a doubt one of my new favorite chicken spots if your in the area do your self a favor and stop in!!
Wow! This place rocks! Fast service (in, ordered and out in two minutes). Chicken moist and absolutely flavourful (extra hot). Fries seasoned very well. Ordered the Combo #3 which includes a slider with cole slaw, a single tender, fries, a slice of bread and a dipping sauce. With a fountain drink under $20. You got to come here!
This is by far the best FRIED CHICKEN in TOWN! Its a lot of meat for a tender. Its juicy, crispy and well seasoned. The service at that specific location is beyond exceptional. The food always comes out fresh. *Tyson* always goes above and beyond to make sure the food is up to expectations!!I literally come to that location because of TYSON! This manager is by far one of the best in any restaurant chain I have been too!
Service was absolutely amazing and the chicken was so juicy and tender! Flavour exploded right from the first bite all the way to the last! And the mac & cheese, I wish I hadn’t gotten an extra couple orders to go! I will definitely be back for more
The best sandwich I've had in a while. I ordered combo #2 (2 sliders with fries) The chicken is so juicy, the spice was just right, the coleslaw and pickle compliment the sandwich very well. So good I almost forgot to take a picture!!
First of all great and friendly service. The day I visited they were having some system issues so were unable to accept credit/debit card and were just taking cash but then they also wanted it in exact change as they didn’t had enough cash on hand which I think represents poor management but the cashier was very apologetic . Now about the food it was amazing tried both medium and Hot level and both were amazing and I might add to it the chicken is Halal. Sliders as well as tenders were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Food was a little pricey as compared to other chicken places but was worth it. Hopefully in the future the visit might be a little more better
