Vietnamese egg coffee. Do yourself a favor and try this fantastic dessert-beverage. We tried pork and meat banh mi and it was well packed, fresh, and delicious. We also tried a snack that is like tteok-bokki, but fried with cheese. I was not expecting that it was going to be so addictive. They also have a variety of hot and cold drinks, their teas are specially tasty, not too sweet. I'll be back.
The Bun Mi was great here! Got the meat lovers spicy and the sweetness of the vegetables really helped balance things out. Also got the pineapple/lychee green tea. Was very sweet so I didn't finish it but the two fruits are a great pairing!I wish they could customize the sugar level on the drinks but other then that a solid experience!
Cafe Daklak has delicious vietnamese street food!I always get the Xòai lắc (shaking mango) as it is soo delicious! Spicy, sweet, sour, and slightly salty with a nice savoury taste too! You got to try this!I also love their banh trang tron (mixed rice paper). It’s a bit spicy and unique, but it’s a bomb of flavours with herbs their seasonings.
Came here on Saturday to tried out the food. To be honest the beefsteak is way too expensive and the quality isn't good either. My friend coffee taste like typical ready to go kinda coffee which isn't what we expect. My rice paper is not bad if they would mixed all together for me that way taste better. Overall not bad. Would give it once more tryout.
A cozy place with friends. I tried a beef steak. It is very great. My friend also enjoyed it. Durian milk is great too. I will come back again to try the next dish.
The drink tastes good but after that, I got food poisoning. Order Thai tea today ( green one) and I vomitted all after 2 hour. I really like the atmosphere at your place. I hope you can check the food carefully as it affects our health directly. All the best
Beautiful and cozy environment. Highly recommend Vietnamese Style Ice Milk Coffee and Egg Coffee.
One of the best egg coffees I’ve tasted! The place is great for studying and catching up with friends. I will definitely be back :)
a very comfortable and cozy cafe! Would recommend their Egg Coffee and their Red Thai Milk Tea! :)
I stopped in while walking down College and went in because their signage was cute. I was immediately greeted by one of their staff and was informed how to order (via mobile, on their website). I placed an order for an iced coffee and rice chips to go.Given the current policies in effect for Ontario, I had to show my COVID vaccination card and ID -- no issue there, just pointing out that I showed the staff member my New York State license and US CDC vax card before even ordering, so clearly I am American. The coffee and food were fine but nothing special. The iced coffee tasted like something from Tim Horton's, not at all like a Vietnamese coffee.I'm only leaving two stars because there was an issue when I went to pay. You pay at the register after placing your order, and they had a sign saying Cash or Debit only. I attempted to use my debit card, but it was declined because they don't take American bank cards. Strange for Toronto, but understood. The issue was that I had enough Canadian cash to cover my bill but the staff member said his boss wouldn't accept my cash because one of the $5 bills had a small tear in the corner. I hadn't touched my food or drink yet so I said offered to just not pay and not take the food, but they wouldn't do that, either, since the food "was already made."The customer service side was very poor. I understand they have a right to refuse my cash, but given I had no other way to pay, I felt they did absolutely nothing to try to remedy the situation. I eventually had to give them a $20 USD and not get the correct change back because they "couldn't do the exchange rate."The whole visit was very confusing and I would not visit this place again. If they aren't going to accept US debit, they should have that clearly displayed, or they should have asked me about it when they saw my US license and vax card upon entering.Editing to respond to business reply below: I was NOT told that the bill could not be accepted due to the tear in the corner. I was told "we cannot take this" without any further explanation.I did not go to the ATM because I would be charged one fee from the ATM and another from my bank for using a non-Chase ATM, which is not fair to me because it's not my fault they would not take my cash or debit card. I did NOT tell them they had to go to the bank to exchange my bill. I was asking the staff member "if you went to the bank, would they accept this bill?" because I didn't understand why they wouldn't accept it.The staff was friendly at the beginning, but they did not offer any solutions other than going to the ATM. The owner did not come out to talk to me at any time or offer solutions. I was told they did NOT take American debit. I was not informed that other Americans were able to use their debit cards. There are always multiple sides to a story; however, you can see from my other Google reviews that I leave 4-5 stars often for places that provide great service. This place did not. Just cautioning any American customers that your debit may not be accepted and they only take cash if it's in perfect condition.
