I stopped in on a whim because it was a hot day and I just finished a long meeting. I love trying different drinks from different places and cultures, so it drew my attention. I asked the female staff at the counter what she recommended and she quickly said the watermelon mint. I kinda wanted to try the hibiscus drink but I decided to trust her.. and she was so right. It's soooo good. I was worried it would be too sweet and artificial but it's definitely real fruit and mint. The watermelon and mint combination is so refreshing. The drink was 6.75 total I think. I'd definitely try another type next time I'm nearby! And maybe I'll pick up some of those beignets they're famous for :)

Finally got here today (after reading the reviews and being unable to stop in before today) and WOWZA – this was place was amazing! Incredibly delicious, made-to-order beignets – beautifully cooked and flavoured (got the box of 10 with cinnamon sugar) and we couldn’t stop eating them! And having deep fried at home ... I can tell you that these are worth EVERY penny! Also got the Iced Cappuccino that was perfectly balanced and even though I usually don’t drink caffeinated coffee in the afternoon (because I’m an admitted “whuss”) this was 100% worth it! I ordered everything based on Nia’s recommendations … so don’t hesitate to ask her! Nia, you’re amazing and funny and FIERCE – don’t ever change!!!

The beignets are exactly as advertised: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, delicious all around. They’re served hot and fresh by a very cheerful woman behind the counter. Order at the counter and your beignets are ready in 7 minutes to take away. Be warned; these bad boys are quite filling and it’s hard to stop. My only qualm is the prices are quite steep.

Hey gang,I'm back with another one. Although, a small joint. It's a one woman show, and she is amazing, and the beignets are delicious, especially when dipped in coffee.Whatever your desire, they've got sweets for for all to enjoy.I really appreciate these local spots so much. The people behind them work so hard to provide a simple service that I find underappreciated. In all, great service, great stories. And overall just a colourful experience, and would definitely recommend you try it out if you get a chance to.Amazing work, keep it up.Until next time,Cheers,Akil

Stopped in on Saturday, on a whim, and so glad I did! The beignets and coffee are amazing, and well worth the 10 minute wait to have them fresh and hot. But the lady running the store is a wonderful treat as well. There were 3 of us waiting, and she was chatting and laughing with everyone. We were all having a marvellous time- and even broke out into a little song at one point. :) Delightful spot- will definitely be back

I've been wanting to try Congo Coffee and Toronto Beignets for a while. Today I ordered the cold cappuccino and 5 pack of beignets. When my order arrived, the coffee was sealed with duct tape which I personally thought was strange. My beignets were in a basic wax paper bag, it was covered in grease and leaking onto the paper bag that everything was placed into. The coffee was pretty small but it was good, had good sweetness and coffee aroma was good. Beignets were crispy, warm, slightly fluffy, cakey, tasty and fresh. I asked for a heavy coating of powdered sugar on my beignets but didn't receive more than a spoon or two - it barely covered the beignets. Overall it was quite expensive on Ubereats, maybe I need to make a trip to the store to order for a better experience. To add, I am pretty unimpressed with the response from the owner but I will respond to this manner. If you are representing yourself on Ubereats, doesn't mean that a review cannot be made. Same way if I were to order off of a fancy restaurant on Ubereats, I can most definitely leave a review on their Google Review to inform others of my experience and I don't believe I did anything wrong nor did I go out of my way. When I said basic wax paper bag, it does not mean that it is not fancy enough. It is a basic bag just like how Tim Horton's uses a basic bag for their donuts. Thank you for your rude comment, but no I am not keeping the bags. Also I will attach photos of the grease that leaked through the bag just so you're aware for your customers and ubereats drivers/cyclists. You can't sit here and tell me that duct tape isn't slightly strange to see placed on a cup but based on the situation I now understand so thank you. But if your ubereats cyclist is having to duct tape a drink for you, consider better packaging. There are sticky paper tabs similar to Starbucks, I'm sure they're cheap in bulk. I am not sure why you're taking this review out so hard on a single reviewer. This is MY personal experience and at the end of the day it's to benefit YOU. As a small business owner as well, consider this a helping hand and not a bashful review. You can read 100 nice reviews but that 1 odd review is what will take you 5 steps further. But to add, I didn't even give you a 1 or 2 star, I gave you a 3 star review. After reading your response, I will not be supporting your business. If you'd like to continue this conversation, feel free to email me but do not humiliate yourself on the internet as there seems to a be a record on here of your attitude. Also I've never been to your location, must be confusing me with someone else.

Stopped in today on a whim, and I am so glad I did. The beignets are amazing- light and crispy. The coffee was delicious too. But the owner really makes it delightful to be there. She was busy cooking and making drinks, but kept up a delightful chatter and banter with everyone waiting on beignets. It’s a small little spot, with a warm and welcoming heart.

ROSE: The beignets and the cocktails are just delicious. Worth the 7.5 km trip on my bike.THORN: The person running the place is obviously overwhelmed and not very welcoming. She looks much friendlier on the videos she shares on social media, I wish I had been as lucky as those other customers. The cups are not very sustainable and the cocktail is way too small for the price; or its price is way too high for the standing of the place. No way to sit and enjoy the beignets on the spot while they are still hot.BUD: A friendly face to run the front office would be great, she definitely needs more hands to run the business. A bell to ring to inform of our presence. A couple of tables (high tables to stay standing like in Germany) for people who would like to eat there together.

Always stop by whenever I'm working in the area for a box of beignets & a coffee. Delectable warm puffs of icing-sugar coated goodness in less than 15 minutes.

I come here for coffee and I never leave disappointed. Smoothest coffee I’ve ever had and I have tried lots of coffee!! I have started buying the beans so I can make at home…makes as a great gift for any coffee lovers too! I also should add the beignets are amazing and fresh to order, but I try to resist temptation unless I come with a friend! Thanks so much for a great experience!
