This was a lovely meal. The service was attentive and the atmosphere very welcoming. My wife and I had previously visited Argentina at some length and so we have experience with the cuisine and such. The wonderful asato plotter we had was really really delicious. And the appetizers lovely and chocolate cake tasty.
We were looking for a place that was nearby and had paella - Bloom was the closest to us so we decided to try it out. We were not disappointed! The paella was amazing, the seafood, rice and meat were all cooked to perfection. Rice was not mushy (most places we've tried were like this) and the seafood was not overcooked. HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting the PURPLE CALAMARI. Will definitely be trying Bloom again, if you're in the West end, swing by!
Fantastic food with perfect portions and creative choices. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere is so comfortable and relaxing. We had a very comfortable booth and greatly enjoyed our time!
First time ordering from Bloom. It was a mixed bag. Cod cakes were excellent. Fluffy inside and a thin crispy batter. Nicely seasoned with a small tomato salad as garnish. But the reason we wanted to try Bloom was they have paella. Nice portion that two could easily share. But we didn't even finish it. The mussells were oddly salty and the only flavour we could taste in the rice was that of the sausage. The sausage was tough. The shrimp and the few lonely scallops were fine and the calamari was tough as well. Oh well.
The food is delicious, my entire family agree. Firstly, the ceviche quality and portion size sets it apart from what is typically served at most restaurants. I had the lamb, which was awesome but the star of the show was the beef cheeks!! Those will not disappoint you, I highly recommend that dish. The ambiance of the restaurant is fine but not amazing, which doesn't bother me as I will definitely be going back for the food.
We went to Bloom on a Saturday night, I believe, one of the last tables seated of the night. We ordered the platter to share, it came with 2 empanadas, tortilla chips, steak, cornish hen, chorizo, vegetables and potatoes (for $60). The food came out very quickly. However the quality wasn't great. We ordered our steak rare and it came out well done (they redid it for us), the cornish hen was dry and the sausage was under cooked. After our drinks and tip we paid just under $100, and it honestly wasn't worth it. We would have stuck around for dessert and more drinks, but we didn't want to be disappointed. The overall service was good, just disappointed in the quality of food.
Bloom Restaurant, in the heart of Bloor West Village. It is very quaint.Modern Latin American fare but with a North American twist. The Lamb Shank was soft, fall of the bone and very delicious. Braised in red wine sofrito. Loved everything from the lamb, mashed potatoes and roasted veggies it came with. The Spanish style paella had chicken, shrimps, scallops, chorizo. Chicken tasted a little over cooked but everything else was tasty.Ended the night with a surprise sweet treat. Flourless chocolate cake.Would definitely come back for the lamb shank and great staff.
Great food and service. We had the Cuban steak and the lamb shank. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Nice spot for dinner on bloor west. Recommend the croquettes and steak
This was our first time at this establishment and it did not disappoint! Excellent hospitality and the staff made you feel right at home. It is wonderful to dine at a restaurant that has such a strong community feel. Highly recommended.
